"I went in a group party of 4 adults 2 young children. We booked a table but was nice and quiet as was monday night. All staff we came across were friendly and helpful i took a cake and candles as was 1 of the kids birthdays, this was no trouble. They brought it out with candle lit and all singing! They even brought enough plates and a knife for us to eat it there after our meal! Adults had starters all beautiful 2 had scampi and salad, 2 had deep fried mushrooms filled with cream cheese with salad. We asked for the kids main meal of both sausage n chips to come out with the starters which again was no problem. Mains we had steak and chips exactly cooked to how we wanted it! Cumberland sausage and chips, vegetable lasagna and chips, and gammon and chips. All the food was delicious cooked beautifully even the salad was crisp and fresh! Will definitely be recommending this place and will be going back."

My husband, daughter and grand daughter spent a weekend here. The staff were very friendly, the whole place was clean, the food excellent. Only downside was the bed. My husband is 6'5 , the bed wasn't.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff are so friendly and the cooked breakfast is delicious! Our room was comfortable and clean and overall absolutely excellent value for money. Thanks! :

Haven't been here for a while but I'm glad to say it's just as good as it's always been.Verey fashionable,going choice of food,going prices, didn't have to wait long for our meal.Verey friendly staff.Wood definitely go back.

Third year in a trot , what more can I say . First class service time after time , make you feel like family. Kay, Steve , Annette make you so welcome , lovely meals clean rooms . Actually booked for two nights then asked for extra night .

I used to stop here regularly in the 90s when I had jobs in Sellafield or Workington. It was a friendly and welcoming place. It was such a great spot that I even based my eldest son's first family holiday here. It's an ideal location for exploring West Cumbria.

Had a huge meal last night thanks to Christine Andrew, at the Grove Court. Their Sirloin Steaks are to die for along with a wonderful salad. Spoilt my calorie counting though by having a delicious Gingerbread Sparkle Cheese Cake which Steven Benn was trying to claim he made himself. Ha! Ha! Excellent food value for money (even though I wasn't paying last night)
