We waited for our food to arrive, but our drinks didn't come until we asked three times. It was frustrating having to remind the staff so we could all eat together. It's such a shame because the castle and gardens are absolutely wonderful. Management really needs to improve their service.

Would definitely be five star but for the very unclear and confusing ordering/collecting system. Many got it wrong, queued in the wrong line on entry and had to be told by customers queuing for collection. High time this was sorted out. The restaurant was closed when we went to the 7:30 open air theatr performance. We used the seats and table under the pergola for our picnic, which was fine but no other people sat here so no atmosphere or vibe. Can't rate the food or service as there was neither I can't help feeling a pre-theatre supper is a trick the Guthrie Pavilion is missing out on.

I had a good breakfast overall. However, I would recommend not placing the butter on the hot toast, as it just melts into oil. The temperature was quite uncomfortable. A few fans would have been helpful. I also requested black pepper but didn't receive any. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant experience, and I enjoyed my meal. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Breakfast.
