"Popped in here with my family after a muddy bike ride to the castle for some lunch and was very pleasantly surprised! From the outside you might be put off by the battlecruiser look of Yr Hen Vic but don 't be. We were greeted with...a very warm welcome from the landlady and staff who allowed our furry friend in as well as allowing us to secure our bikes in one of the other rooms in the pub(despite the mud! . We were then served a proper traditional Sunday lunch with more veg than I could possibly consume and continued to bend over backwards to accommodate ours and demanding children 's wishes. Thank you all, we will be back."

"5 stars don't seem enough. so a shame that we found this beautiful caffe on our way to home from vacation. service here is excellent, and the staff very friendly. eating is amazing! this place is surely a hidden gem and comes highly recommended. I had the rugby brunch and everyone was nice and tasty. in any case for the hearty appetit. with excellent value for money, I can guarantee that we are back when we are ever in the opposite."

"We got married there on 27th of July. Lovely place. Really nice and clean rooms. Amazing bathroom! Great communication with them throughout email. Tasty food. Good service. The only thing that really upset me was that they broke our wedding cake topper that I personally bring the night before and asked lady from the reception should I leave it with them or bring it the next day as I don’t want anyone to break it. She said she will leave a note and put it safe but yet the next day it was broken and other lady who bring it with the cake just put the pieces next to the cake and when I said it’s broken she said “oh is it?” And that’s it. We used a tape to put them pieces together but let me tell you it’s not something you wanna worry about on your wedding day."

"great place, great eating, great staff, a small problem that is grounded is close, so it is practically impossible for disabled people to come up who are really steep and dangerous, especially for someone like me who suffers from ballance and spacial consciousness problems tasty, it is an alpt room. would recommend to close the upper floor wc and to enjoy the underground wc"

"We've been here a few times and always been happy with food and service. Sunday dinner was a bit of a disappointment..we ordered drinks three times to three different staff before they were brought to us after 20 mins . When we ordered our food we asked for less mash more cabbage and was told that was fine. When the food came we got a tiny portion of peas with a strands of cabbage added, and loads of mash. As a diabetic who manages my condition with eating low carb, this wasn't great. It was a different server again who had no idea that we'd ordered less mash more cabbage. The meat was cold and arrived substantially before the veg selection. Quantity was generous overall and the vibe was relaxed but not quite as good as it could have been"
