"This restaurant has been reopened about two years according to our suppliers and it looks newly restored from the outside. Parking is a premium so expect to park nearby if traveling by car. It's actually a 10 minute walk from the town centre which we chose on our return the hotel. The staff are dressed traditionally and very welcoming. There is a good choice of beer, and we took the seasonal specials which were great tasting and reasonably priced. The quality and quantity were more than adequate so make sure you are hungry..The outside terrace area was full of people dining with families and business people mixed giving a warm atmosphere. Drinks and food arrived quickly. Definitely worth a visit would advise booking."

Since they opened as a deer cellar in 2016, we went 3-4 times every year when we visited and loved pork fury. But with new owners it seems that the food quality has gone down significantly. The peppers were dry and hard (everyone we ordered) and the crust was not crustling at all. The food came in less than 10 minutes of the order, which I suspect was up to the fact that it all precooked and reheated (bad) ... the waitress said only that she would pass on our comments (in a not particularly friendly way) so that we do not go back. massive shame.
