"If you want to spend a total of nearly two hours waiting for your breakfast, this is the place for you! Queuing for 5 minutes to be ‘welcomed’, moving your own (uncleared) tables together … and no, they weren’t cleaned for us on arrival. After 10 minutes a waitress came over as we had 4 menus and she wanted to take one away but promised to come back to take our order. She didn’t. A further 10 minutes later, having watched four tables who had come in after we arrived being attended to, I walked to the nearest waiter and asked for our order to be taken next. 5 minutes later somebody came to take our order. We mentioned we had been waiting quite some time already. There was no apology forthcoming, nor any indication how long we would have to wait. Within our order we asked for a jug of tap water as well as teas and coffees. A further 10 minutes later, not even the water had arrived. We called the waitress who had taken our order over to ask for at least our water, and ideally the teas as well. It took a further 10 minutes for both to arrive. Some time later we asked when our food would arrive. We were asked if we had been advised on arrival that food orders were taking 30 to 40 minutes. We had not been advised that was the delay. Three of our meals then arrived but not my own. We expressed disappointment that we had waited around an hour and 30 minutes. A further 5 minutes elapsed and a different waitress appeared with a slip of paper and get this…. told us we had ‘only’ ordered our food 55 minutes ago. Quite how this was supposed to appease us, I’m not sure. As I was advising the waitress of our dissatisfaction, a lady chef approached, having heard us. She was quickly appalled at the lack of service we had received. We pointed out how many other later arrivals had received and even finished their food, whilst mine had yet to appear. Further horrified, she left to personally cook my missing eggs on toast, bringing them herself. “Happy Birthday to me!” I said (it was). At least this lady apologised and said she would not charge for my eggs on toast. Minutes later, the owner started clearing up around us. We expressed our intense disappointment and he uttered markedly insincere apologies whilst STILL trying to justify the unjustifiable! ‘Anything else?’ He asked ‘Well a significant discount would be appreciated” I said I’m not making this next part up….. “We work on very small margins, if I offered you a discount, I’d have to do it for everyone” We pointed out that his chef had already undertaken to remove my eggs on toast from our bill. He looked intensely unhappy at that news. My rough estimation of the raw material costs of eggs on toast is less than £1. In short, a dreadful experience due to a collective absence of attention to customer care, which clearly comes from the top down. We won’t be going to Honeydales Tea Shop again."

Excellent breakfast such good value. Took my Australian friend there she couldn't believe how large the full English breakfast was .

Racist and bad service. One hour waited for breakfast but walkout with no food. Socking the way spoke manager, no apology at all from her.

Love Honeydale farm. Plenty of food and always very fresh. My only slight issue is that the young staff could benefit from a little more training.

What a shame things have changed here for dog owners you can still go but have to sit in the grass area, which on a damp wet day not ideal at all. There is an undercover area we’re we always used to sit , but not allowed now. Oh well . On a plus side, if you don’t want to take your dog, the food is lovely give it a try Visualizza piatti

Not a bad place but not as good as people say always a very long wait for food yes they do let u no when there is a delay but seems like always not just at certain times now !!tea wasn't that good we both had the breakfast which to be honest was pretty bland watery mushrooms ,hard fried eggs etc !!staff get on with job not the freindliest

Beautiful day for outside brunch. Service was slow. Waited over 45 mins for 6 breakfasts. All came out different times, one breakfast had long hair in it ! Had to be sent back , we had nearly finished and last 2 friends still waiting for breakfast , ask repeatedly for it. When it came it was wrong , sent back and still came back wrong. Plus items left of order. Disappointed to say the least. If you can’t cope with orders didn’t allow so many to be seated, will I come back ? Not in a hurry . Also had a takeaway away week before and that was a shambles.

The food was fine but horrendous customer service. Would never go back. My dad noticed thick limescale in his tea and swallowed a chunk of it. When we called the waitress over to inform her (very politely) she just nodded with a complete straight face and said “yeah I know, it happens” and then walked away. No apology. They even left the tea on the bill even though it was obviously undrinkable. I don’t usually even leave reviews but we are all very disappointed with the sheer lack of customer care after knowingly serving us hot limescale… would not recommend at all. Very rude. 8 of us arrived at peak time on a Sunday. Two kids and a wheelchair user. Seated immediately, all together after some juggling of tables. Offered drinks at once and had a really lovely choice of food on the menu. Had quite a long wait for food but we’re kept fully up to speed every ten mins. When the food arrived there were no problems and the food was really very good. Amazing quality and portions. We were served by various members of staff one stood out head and shoulders above the rest, his name was Lucas. He had the most beautiful manner and was very professional. Highly recommend to others.

Food is always consistent in this restaurant, the portions are generous, the produce is fresh quality, anything that can be homemade is it is always presented beautifully but sadly the service doesn’t keep up the high standards. There are always a lot of staff so it is never under staffed which is great but the women/girls are all so miserable. There is no warm welcome, no check backs, no smiles at all. There is often a table at the weekend which is occupied by family of the owner/manager. Whilst I understand they want to visit it isn’t practical when the 2 young children are running around or on the floor with toys, dangerous for the waitresses unnecessarily noisy for customers to enjoy the...
