Good old fashioned pub grub, lasagna was delicious, enough for two people. Friendly staff, quick service. Always busy, recommend booking.

My second visit today, once again a great lunch, friendly helpful staff, lovely cosy room, fantastic well cooked and tasty food and all reasonably priced. The Horse and Jockey goes into my goto places to eat that are my first choice when I'm in an area.

This is a lovely family run pub. It was our first visit and arrived there without booking, it was a little busy when we arrived, the landlady Lorna warmly welcomed us to a table and the service was excellent. The food Lorna recommended from their special day menu was amazingly delicious and big portions. I will recommend the lamb hotpot and this lovely pub to anyone

There was lots of us having a family meal and whilst everyone else enjoyed their food mine wasn't so good. I ordered the curry and it was like cooked chicken from a packet was put into a cheap jar of curry sauce. It just didn't feel or taste right. Desserts were all over the place too with them saying they had run out then miraculously finding them. Would I go back....? Yes but would avoid the curry as the people there were quite friendly and I've eaten in far worse places.

I attended a work Christmas party at this restaurant and was warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The food was served hot and with perfect timing between courses. The portions were generous and delicious, ensuring that no one left hungry. The staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Despite it being a Christmas event, the quality of the food was top-notch. Thank you to all the hardworking staff. I look forward to visiting again. It was quiz night and although we put in effort, we ended up coming second to last. We'll have to try harder next time.

I am always surprised when we visit a restaurant with great reviews only to have a bad experience, as has happened many times before. We started going to independent pubs after disappointing experiences with "everything deep fried" at chain pubs like Hungry Horse and Marstons. Our first visit to this restaurant was a few months ago and we loved the specials menu. However, on our second visit last night, the specials didn't sound appealing so we ordered from the main menu, with some extra starters just in case. Unfortunately, everything we ordered was deep fried and the oil needed changing. The food was either dry inside or too greasy, with the salads not being very fresh and mostly wilted. W...
