Hôtel du Nord - Piatti

I write this not so much for the food, which was good, but for the whole experience. It was like going back to Paris in the when the great writers chumed it up in the old cafes. A cool place.

We went to this restaurant based on reviews on TripAdvisor after a series of mediocre meals in Paris. We felt welcomed by the staff. My husband burger as in the real gourmet category. I had the fish which was delicious.

Used to be good but seems to be resting on its laurels. Food pretty mediocre and not cheap. Service patchy to say the best. Still in a great setting but overall not good enough when there are so many other great options nearby. Visualizza piatti

The menu isn't traditional French but a mixture of French and international, even including a burger course. So, it's in between casual and fine dining, too. The food was good, the dessert was amazing. Casual crew. Nice retro Parisian atmosphere. Place is mostly empty In a very lively, up and coming neighbourhood.

Had looked forward to this for weeks, to treat our daughter for her birthday, and she proclaimed it as the best steak I've ever had Success then! A really lovely meal for the three of us, in an atmospheric room, with excellent attentive service....Good wines too, and one of the best Creme Caramel I've ever sampled. Look forward to our next visit.

Had a drink. It's a bar I like. I'm still iffy about the place . Years ago there use to be an insane, awful bartender who wore a sailor hat. Nasty , horrible guy. I hadn't been back in years that's how evil this guy...was. Someone hired this guy ! That's scary. No sign of him but who knows ? I hope and pray he's gone because it's a nice room and cool location. Had lunch here at the weekend. Food was nice and the service was friendly. The venue was dark inside but as we were seated outside this wasn't an issue on this occasion. However, being outside meant we had a fair bit of traffic going past...as it was quite a busy road, which made it very noisy. We had pre-booked a table on a recommendation, but I wouldn't be in any rush to go back. Perhaps if we were passing and the timing was right for wanting something to eat.

We were in search of a reasonably priced bistro meal in the arrondissement yesterday evening and stumbled upon Hôtel du Nord. Based on reviews, its outward appearance, and the menu, we thought we’d found the perfect spot. Unfortunately our orders were bungled right off...the bat. We’d ordered the lam and received fish, and when presented with this error our waiter (who was admittedly friendly) tried to tell us that the fish would be better for our ‘beach bodies’. The accompanying plated vegetables were lukewarm to cold, and ranged from undercooked to raw. Hôtel du Nord is a lovely restaurant, we have visited several times before. We travelled to HDN from our hotel in the cost us nearly return in a cab due to the strikes. It was New Year’s Eve, the set menu looked nice...but I wanted vegetarian, a little pasta maybe with a sauce.....NO, chef can’t do that as it’s a set menu but he can do you potatoes and veg!!! I wasn’t the only one wanting vegetarian that night. The food when it did come was overcooked and lukewarm. The desserts were inedible. People sat around us looked at their food in dismay.
