"We had our baby’s baptism which we had planned for 1 and a half months. When we arrived they changed the room without telling us. We set our room that morning and we had left our cakes in the boxes to ensure no flies would sit on them. When we arrive mid afternoon we had noticed that they had been uncovered and that the cakes had a few flies near. We arrived at 5pm and we did notify them we would like to eat for 6pm while we had photos taken by our photographer. But they rushed us and cattle us in to our room. We had a party of 43. When being served our food, it’s was served table by table which was fine. However, when a table is waiting 15 minutes and everyone else has finished I think that is not acceptable. They did rectify it but it shouldn’t happen. When it came to cutting our cakes they said they would cut and serve them. This never happened. We ended up serving them without plates and forks, which we did ask for in the morning. No members of staff was available and we couldn’t find any. When everyone was leaving a member of staff came over and said “I’m sorry for your experience we quite under staffed”. If you know you have our party, main dinner service and another party in a different room you would think that they would prepare. Finally, you can not be served at the bar when they are serving food because they are that understaffed. Which mean you are then waiting between 20-30 for a drink."

Lovely staff members, calm and charming atmosphere, and great food! Initially I was thrown off by the lack of options but was pleasantly surprised with their vegan choice!

Ate here for two nights on a B&B and Dinner deal. Food in the restaurant was way beyond expectations. Adam and Adam are two young chefs who serve imaginative and beautifully presented meals we will be back.

limited menu due to changes but both of us chose different options. Excellent .given menu on arrival and ticked choice with sterile pen and waitress collected with PPE and then meal and cutlery arrive at same time , only thing strange was no table cloths but totally understand why there wasnt . We enjoyed very good food and service here the setting is really beautiful and the architecture stunning. The Huntly restaurant is a separate part of the hotel much older than the front part and feels quite different to the front newer parts. On site is also the Ramblewood Inn which is the informal place to eat and drink in the hotel.

Have been to Orton Hotel many times over the years and always eaten at the Huntly. It had nice food and we got friendly with the servicing staff and manager as we went so much. Unfortunately, the restaurant has now shutdown permanently. Personally, seeing empty the place has been the last few years plus Covid I'm not surprised. Shame, but I suppose that's they way things go

All in all, a nice venue, with a pretentious sounding menu, that severely lacks when it comes to delivering on expectations. This Restaurant is not mindful towards intolerances, and whilst willing to substitute, it will end up being an incomplete dish. My 2 courses could be summed up as over-seasoned rainbow trout, followed by a main of 5 thinly sliced pieces of overcooked duck breast, served with a slightly caught potato dauphinoise and a flavorless sauce. Expensive and not worth it. Visualizza piatti

Great seasonal menu not extensive, but something for everyone in elegant heritage surroundings. We had dinner on two nights so trialled a fair share of the dishes! The home cured salmon was especially good, as was the roasted sea bass, but we also enjoyed the chicken terrine and the steak and the mushroom risotto was also delicious. We had cheese the first night it was tasty (and huge! was planning to try the desserts on our return visit, but just too full! Lovely staff too big call out to Mark his topiary skills were much appreciated!

Having recently moved into the area, tried out the Huntley restaurant for the first time. Ignore the previous post about it being closed. Although it closed during the lockdown it is definitely open now. The menu is quite limited, approximately 4 different starters, choice of 4 mains (one vegetarian) and 3 or 4 desserts. That said, all of them were quite tempting, and all our food was delicious. Service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Overall feel of the place is luxurious but somewhat old fashioned. Would definitely recommend and and will go back again.

"We did try getting in here last Saturday, but the queue was out on the pavement and after waiting a few minutes a very apologetic member of staff came out and said it was likely to be 35 to 40 minutes, so we ending up at Five Guys Peterborough instead. Although it was disappointing we didn't get in, the queue speaks for itself, the food is superb! We visited this Saturday a bit later (18:45) and we were greeted immediately and shown to a table. We were primarily looked after by Nathan and he is a credit to the Company, he couldn't have been any more helpful and friendly. He spent the better part of five minutes taking us through the menu and making recommendations, based on what our preferences were. His advice was absolutely perfect. We shared a chilli squid and vegan short rib, then had firecracker chicken and beef donburt. We don't normally do dessert, but upon Nathan's recommendation we had chocolate and ginger cheesecake and banana katsu. Drinks were ginger no jito and blueberry spice. I had previously been to the Wagamama in Lincoln, where I'd been equally impressed with the food, hence wanting to go as a couple and enjoy the experience. As mentioned the food is outstanding, the fire cracker chicken is already sat right at the very top of my goto dishes, I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys hot spicy food, you will not be disappointed! I was also offered an off the menu version of the katsu chicken, more chilli, which be on our next visit. Other than the food, what made.this such an enjoyable experience was the attention we were given by Nathan, he was patient, engaging and attentive. When all is said and done, you can go somewhere and eat the most amazing food, but if the service is lousy you don't go back. To go somewhere and get first class service and amazing food is getting rare. Speed of food to the table was also perfect with the squid arriving within five minutes. Wagamama Peterborough You've nailed it 100% Update 03/12/22: Visited Peterborough restaurant again 19:00 on a Saturday, once again a warm welcome upon entering and immediately given choices of tables to sit at. Menus and drinks arrived very quickly. Our food order was taken within five minutes of arriving and was on the table within 10/15 minutes. One of the starters we ordered was prawn lollipops, two of these had fused together when cooking in the pan/on griddle and when my wife pulled them apart the sections of prawn that had been overlapping were grey and uncooked. We wanted another drink, so when one of the staff were passing we ordered another drink each and my wife asked if the prawns could be put back in the pan for a minute. We were told they couldn't be undercooked as they are precooked before being seared, nevertheless the prawns we had were grey in a strip were the two had been touching. They did however take them away and replace them within 10 minutes, no drinks arrived though, so when the prawns were returned we re ordered drinks and asked for the desert menu. Another 10 minutes and still no drinks or menu, so had to ask again. After this everything ran smoothly again. They have now introduced pay at table using a QR code in the too righthand corner of the paper placemats on the table. This takes you to a secure Web page were you manually enter your card number, expiry date and security code, along with your table number and email address. It works okay, but would be far better executed if it facilitated google pay, PayPal etc. Once again the food was superb, other than prawngate, we felt rather disappointed with the service this time, especially as it was not particularly, or overly busy. Obviously this was probably a one off and certainly will not stop us from returning."
