A great evening in a fantastic typical german atmosphere. Friendly and playfull staff, we were really treated very well despite the extreme busy x mas market tourism. Great beers and simple, but surprisingly good tasting food and very fair prices. Recommended

We went There as a group of people. Despite this, and The fact that it was weekend and the place was full our beer glasses were never empty. It took some time before we got our food, but it is fully understandable everywhere where...it is so busy. When it finally came it was fantastic. Our waiter had nice sence of humour. Was here with a big group and were told how many glasses of beer we were to be served to the food. The waiter was very unwilling to serve, maybe he wanted the beer himself? For that price I expected a much more delicate wienerschnitzel....Not worth the price. When asking for a spoon to the coffee the waiter took a spoon from another person at the table.... funny..

I reserved a table for pax but restaurant couldnt find my booking intitially. Reservation made days prior. Ambience very good. Wooden tables , nice and bright restaurant. Other patrons talked in subdued voices. Service is excellent and food served within mins...despite full house. We ordered Pork Knuckles boiled Grilled, Wiener Schitnzel, STeak , mussels. All the dishes were served hot and very tasty. Prices are par with other fine German beerhaus restaurant but all the food was totally cleaned from our plates. Will return to this restaurant on my next visit. Recommend to others to try

There are lots of pubs,bars and restaurants along Bölkerstraße and without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite taverns along here is Im Goldenen Kessel . I love the look of this tavern, the interior is awesome, a superb authentic look,beautiful tiling,wood beamed...ceilings, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this big tavern. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday night, this place was absolutely packed with a great atmosphere, a passing Köbe deposited two Schumacher Altbier on our table and as is the usual in this part of Germany placed two pencil ticks on our beer mat to indicate how many beers...
