Great breakfast, fabulous poached eggs, good quality bread friendly staff and always enjoy eating here. The pancakes are lovely anda nice change.

Visited the Imperial Express in Darlington on the 05.02.23 with two other couples. Great service, great food and very nice wine. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Totally bad experience. Over priced over cooked. Sent eggs back as we're like squash balls.Owner needs customer service skills. Barked nothing wrong with them. Would have given the girl a tip until she told me the owner takes the tips. What a disgraceful human being he is

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It is a well-managed café-restaurant with a good selection of menu items in a continental style. The service is good during lunchtime and it is obvious that it is a favorite among local office workers. The prices are quite reasonable as well.

We were staying overnight in Darlington, on our way home to Surrey, and booked a table at Imperial Express for dinner. It was such an enjoyable evening the menu is great, food excellent and the staff were very attentive. We were not expecting to have such a lovely meal and I would recommend it. Visualizza piatti

Took a party of ten to The Imperial Express Cafe on the evening of the 27.12.22. Really nice atmosphere, very good service, great food especially the Pork Parmesan and the pasta dishes. Wine selection was first class with an aperitif of Laurent Perrier Rose’. All in all 5 star rating from all in my party. Definitely take guests there again.

I usually don't write reviews, but... The staff at this restaurant is not the best and some of them have poor hygiene practices, such as carrying towels over their shoulders that touch their hair and then picking up plates from tables. This is not very hygienic. However, we went for breakfast and the coffee was great, as well as the orange juice. An older woman was rude to us, telling us to just stand and wait because she was busy. Eventually, we were shown to a table and our order was taken quickly. The prices were a bit high compared to other places nearby.

This used to be a reliable spot for good food, a town favorite. However, our recent visit did not live up to the restaurant's previous reputation. The venue felt worn-out and neglected, and the staff seemed disinterested. The food quality had declined, likely due to a menu that was too extensive to maintain quality. The beef bourguignon was a disappointment, as were the bland and unappetizing vegetables on the side. The portions had increased, but at the expense of quality. We may give it another chance for nostalgia's sake, but we hope the owners realize the potential of their establishment and return it to its former glory.
