For a dinner meal priced between £40 and £50 per person, the value was exceptional. The food was absolutely outstanding, earning a perfect five stars. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor, showcasing a wonderful blend of ingredients and creativity. Equally noteworthy was the service. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. "Went here for lunch with some family. Very very busy, we were told unable to reserve a table and we had to wait for a table to become available, which we didn’t mind waiting. Extensive menu, plenty to choose from. Loved the decor inside, proper cosy cafe. Food was excellent, however, some staff (not all) had a poor attitude. Completely understand stress at busy times. We felt like we were causing bother when ordering and asking for cutlery and napkins which weren’t given to us. Not very cheery or welcoming but would visit again."

"Had a carry out last night and dont think we will be rushing back!!!!!!!!! We are normally pleased with our food but last night was horrendous, The food was to ready for a pick up at 7pm,(I think our food had been ready way before 7pm) when we got the food home, the naan bread was stone cold and the food was luke warm, thank the lord for plates being heated up in the oven. The guy front of house was weariing a pair of jeans and a dirty tee shirt as was the guy who came out the kitchen. There was too much sauce compareed to the amount of meat, and te sauces were pretty tasteless. I'm thinking here must be new people n here and its not for te better, so very disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"This is a review of the Seabed restaurant in the Anchor Hotel, Tarbert. Visited with family on 30th June and 3rd July 2023. On our first visit, the food was very good quality, fresh and flavoursome. Unfortunately standards had slipped on our second visit. Our starter was Cullen skink which was a bit watery and had a strange sour taste as though it was fresh out of the freezer. For mains we had Haddock Chips, and Steal Pie and mash. The haddock was very fresh, and the chips were actually potato wedges fine if you like chips unpeeled. Now the steak pie was less than appetising. Large chinks of tough steak full of gristle and fat. The pastry top was a bit stale, and the mash had the most strange flavour. Then we had Eton mess for dessert. A couple of raspberries, a small portion of broken meringue, and a spoonful of Chantilly cream apparently is the Tarbert version. When paying the bill, I had to query why the prices being charged were in excess of the price advertised on the menu. £7 advertised for Cullen skink, and £8 charged. £6 advertised for Eton mess and £9 being charged. a total of £8 attempted overcharge. I did query this, and the overcharge was immediately refunded, BUT this should not have happened!!"

"We stayed here last Friday evening, unfortunately one of our party was taken ill and was actually taken off by ambulance to the nearby hospital… I have just phoned and left a message to let Marion know how William is doing as she asked for us to let her know… We can’t thank Marion and team enough for being so lovely and caring throughout the traumatic few hours… and the next morning… you were all simply amazing… You were so very kind indeed… we won’t forget it.. We would highly recommend this lovely friendly and clean and comfortable hotel… we will return again one day and hopefully not bring so much drama along with us.. Great breakfast!! The pictures below are of the incredible position the hotel is situated, these were taken from our bedroom window, simply Stunning!! A Lovely and friendly little harbour town.. Oh would recommend booking a table somewhere for dinner in advance… A HUGE THANK YOU! Annie, Andy, Marjorie and William.."
