"Visited for the first time yesterday for a hog roast for our local football club Christmas gathering. The pub is a lovely pub with a great selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. There's lots of space to sit down and a huge garden which...will be fantastic in the summer. The food was exceptional, melt in the mouth pork and amazing crackling. We will be back to try more delights from the talented chef. The bar staff were friendly, welcoming and most importantly, quick to serve you, which considering there were about 80 of us was no mean feat. Great for families, groups and couples. Thoroughly recommend a visit."

The atmosphere and friendliness in this pub is amazing! With the new landlords (who are fantastic) we love coming here for delicious food, brilliant entertainment and great music. Totally recommend this to anyone who wants a new local like us, or who are passing though!

Popped into the pub as a 10 minute drive from us. Can tell the new owners have made a big effort and nicely busy for a Sunday night. However, person behind bar didn't make eye contact with us and more focused on locals...which, whilst I...understand we could be if felt a bit more welcome.

This is a delayed review for a party I organised earlier this year. The Owner and Head Chef couldn't have been more helpful in the run up to our event, allowing us to have confidence that everything would go smoothly. The food was excellent and...they reserved the main part of the pub for our party so that we could be separate from the locals. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Had a great evening at the King Will for our son’s football xmas do.Fantastic family atmosphere. The place was heaving, but the bar staff didn’t keep us waiting. The drinks were average in price but the hog roast we had was excellent value at £10 per...head.This was obviously because we had so many people and had pre arranged the menu.I really like the decor and all the eclectic pieces they have on display . The landlords are very keen to be involved in the local community and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts! Thank you ! Oh and dogs welcome also !

what an amazing afternoon! we arrived in a group of 4, we had already booked and was warmly welcomed by our hostes of the pubs. we probably had the best Sunday roast we ever had and believe that we were in this area to some...Pubs, these young people know how to make a Sunday roast. the whole pub sang happy birthday to my wife after lunch, that was great. in a desert man himself and that has not dissapoint it was soou beautiful. overall well appreciated, great host, great eating, I think that speaks for himself. will certainly recommend this place and will definately again for a roast or two!

"Firstly I would like to say that this restaurant has just been refurbished, and it didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant, more like a cafe at the beach somewhere! It felt very sparse and most Italian restaurants I e been to have proper tablecloths on the table but these were plastic and I noticed one table it was tapped up underneath, in my opinion it needs to be made more warmly and have more of a family feel. The food was really nice, although I would advise anyone to make sure they double check their order as I chose chicken in a sauce really nice which came with vegetables but I also asked for a separate portion of potatoes, when it arrived I just had chicken with a few cut up potatoes and a very very small garnish of salad ! I mentioned this to the waitress who had taken our order and she said I know but the chef had given you extra salad !! Sorry but salad is not vegetables , it clearly said on the menu it came with vegetables. Having said about the above issue, the meals we all had were nice and the staff gave us a very warm welcome and because of the blip they said we could have a free pudding…..not sure if we all did or it was just mine but I never see the bill as we were treated to this. To finish the evening off we were given a lovely limoncello shot. We would definitely go back. Thankyou for a lovely evening in your restaurant"

"Popped in for a late lunch with my wife and sat in the garden in the sunshine. Friendly bar staff. Both had the mussels starters which were ok and the bread was nice. My wife had the surf and turf main, priced at £40, which...surely would deliver at that price. Sadly not. The lobster was ok but the steak, cooked rare as requested, was grey, under seasoned and tasteless. She didn't finish it and didn't even bother asking for a doggy bag. She felt it was the worst steak she had ever eaten. I went for the chicken fajitas which arrived sizzling on a platter. The chicken was dry, massively under seasoned and the red peppers and onions weren't cooked properly. The salad I didn't even touch as it was so painfully boring to look at. My three tortillas were like cardboard and I ate just half of one and then gave up. Chips were only randomly cooked through so we both left most of those also. We gave feedback to the waitress when she cleared the table and went to pay. Whilst paying at the bar the licensee went behind the bar without acknowledging us in the slightest and told the lady taking our payment to take the fajitas off the bill. No apology; not even the time of day was paid to us. He even said to her tell them the fajitas have been taken off the bill'...why on earth he couldn't tell us directly is beyond me! It was rude beyond belief. We paid and left. Over the years we have been to many carvers, seafood evenings and meals out with family and friends at The Black Horse. I will never step through the door again and waste my money. I will do my utmost to make sure that anyone who asks why will learn the truth. What a dreadful experience!"
