"Hey it was pay day so thought i would take my girlfriend out for a meal. The knoxbridge was local and their website and reviews promised a lot. Prices are high for a pub but you don 't mind paying for a bit of quality...if that 's what you get. It was a Friday night so i thought that i 'd better book a table. Turns out i needn 't have bothered as though it was for 8PM the place was empty apart from a drinker at the bar. Not a good sign! The service was provided by a young boy who made a big effort to be attentative and polite. However the landlord appeared to be eves dropping us from around the corner of the bar and was continously prompting the nervous lad. (I could see you in the door window reflection) They are attemping to up the experience here but the menu was extremely limited... and pricey for a pub. Given the limitations i ordered the Ribeye syeak at £17.95. The only other steak on offer was a fillet at £24.95! My girlfriend went for a burger as there wasn 't much else that she fancied. Well i 've had a lot of steaks in my time and have eaten in a lot of places from Bills to The Shard but i have to say that this is one of the worst steaks that i have ever 'HALF EATEN '. It was a Minute steak at best and had unchewable gristle in every attempted mouthful. I don 't like complaining and don 't send food back. But when asked how the food was i had to say that i was very dissapointed. The landlord apologised but said it was a bit of meat and couldn 't be guaranteed and he 'd never had any problems before. He basically gave me the impressions that i didn 't know what i was talking about and i had got what i 'd paid for. WOW!! He was very apologetic but did nothing. Save your money and drive into town."

This is an excellent pub with a nice menu, a couple of real ales and a great selection of gin.

Went with friends for a meal with wine pairing. Food was excellent and the pub had a lovely atmosphere.

Really good food, really friendly staff on a random Tuesday evening visit. We have a small baby and they welcomed him too.

driven past previously and decided to pop in. firendly welcome and decent beer. had some snacks but looking at the meals on the tables loooked pretty decent,will return.

Had a spur of the moment lunch here. Very attentive barman who was also our waiter. He was very pleasant and looked like he enjoyed his work. Sunday lunch was very good. Beef was very tender, nice potatoes and a good selection of vegetables.

Driving along a country road looking for somewhere to eat. Came across this place and we were not disappointed. Nice late lunch, we had homemade broccoli and stilton soup, followed by the sharing platter. Good friendly service with a smile. Very nice

We were in thearea and my brother in law booked it. I have travelled a lot, but what a gem of a place. A gem of a place, a very warm welcome from he waitress and very helpful. French chef produceda fantastic meal and it was served with a smile. In fact we enjoyed so much that we did not depart until 5.30 pm. It is a must

Had been to Sissinghurst Castle. Sat Nav brought us home a different way. So glad we found this pub. It was 2.15 when we arrived. A few tables occupied and some people in the garden. Very warm welcome by landlord. We ate the Gammon Steak. It was huge and thick. I asked for green beans as don’t like peas. No problem. The chunky chips were very chunky and lots of them. Piping hot too. I couldn’t finish them! My egg was a little snotty for me but that’s just my preference. I should have asked for it to be done differently.
