"With exterior and interior eating La Passarelle which boasts Italian cuisine (and delivers Italian cuisine seemed the perfect place to enjoy an early evening drink and a meal. We chose interior dining and perhaps in a way that was part of the problem... It’s dead. I mean really dead. I don’t personally feel diners should be penalised for choosing to eat inside, but that’s how it felt. The decor is a little odd also. Everywhere there are references to jazz music, including hundreds of figurines (from life-size to table top miniatures of black jazz singers and musicians (mainly Louis Armstrong which is ironic because there is absolutely no music in the place at all. As I said it’s dead and the lack of music only amplifies the silence. The food when it arrived was decent (although the lasagne (no trace of bechamel sauce incidentally was obviously microwaved then grilled to cremate the top, was bland and served sans salad frites or any other accompaniment We ate. We drank. We mourned the lack of music in what was otherwise a musically themed restaurant and both remarked that IF there was a next time, we’d probably eat outside and make our own music"

Had lunch here last Friday. My wife and I had the Bass in a lovely sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and well presented. This was followed by a lovely tarte tatin. We could not fault the meal. The restaurant seems to have new owners so there have been a few changes since our last visit. However still worth a visit.

Lovely location for this well appointed Jazz themed bar bistro. Well designed interior, plenty of room between the tables. The service was attentive. The set meal at 12.80 offered choice of two starters , two mains a (steak or lamb), and a dessert. The food was perfectly cooked and very tasty. There is a pleasant outside terrace looking over the river. for quality and value you can't go wrong here.

We chose this on the spur of the moment, really a nice lunch, good atmosphere, very pleasant service, lovely waitress, food well timed and hot, good portions. I had the mixed grill old fashioned name intrigued me, three delicious and well cooked pieces of meat chicken, beef and lamb husband had the plat du jour, mustard chicken. Good chips and really very tasty salad garnish more imaginative than usual lettuce leaf. Some of he jazz themed stuff is a bit kitsch but the music was fine and not too intrusive. Nice location too, would be nice to sit out by the river on a finer day.

Visited here with our family over from the UK. We had to wait for a few minutes for a table, but it was pleasant sitting by the river having a pre dinner drink. The service we had had was prompt and the staff very attentive. The meal was well cooked, hot and very nice. The starter was excellent and a real plate full. Almost a main course. My beef steak was well cooked and just right for me, and my wifes pork filet was tender and the dause was lovely. The cost was very reasonable, and I will certainly visit again. How they got the restaurant up and running again so quickly after the river flooded them out is really amazing.

Small Jazz themed modern Restaurant Bar on the river with outdoor seating. The Bar was busy on the evening we arrived with only seating left in the restaurant interior. I ordered from the fixed price menu, my partner simply chose a pizza. I had a starter of a casserole of mussels and ham in a cream sauce which was actually quite nice despite the rather obvious processed ham. My Partner chose a smoked Salmon Pizza, which arrived with chunks of smoked salmon fillet on it and dollops of soft cheese. she enjoyed the pizza but found it very salty. My main dish arrived which was half of a Tarragon roasted chicken with chips. This was floating on a bed of oil, it was tasty but very salty. My Desser...

Having both been to this restaurant before my friend arranged a meal there for my birthday on a Sunday lunchtime. There was 11 adults and 4 children. We had a lovely table outside so overlooking the river. We all chose from the menu of the day which was good, having two choices for each course. the food was great. Big portions and cooked to a turn. The only problem we had was that one member of our group did not want sauce with her steak. She did say this when ordering and was told this was not a problem as the sauce came in a jug on the side. However when her steak arrived the sauce had been served over. She pointed this out and was told, pretty well by the waiter, too bad. Although this wa...
