"A high class perfectly cooked meal with fine wine in stylish surroundings with impeccable service. Couldn’t really ask for more! The best in local casual fine dining with a contemporary French flavour. Booking was easy on line with a follow up mail to check for food allergies and if our booking was for a special occasion. It was a birthday celebration. A warm welcome on arrival , a drink by the bar whilst we checked out the menu. We opted for the A La Carte but there were some appealing dishes on the menu for the week with great value two or three course options. The wine list was exceptional with a strong emphasis on quality French and catered for most tastes. Good to see the spring water was from a local source, the renowned Crag brand from Wildboarclough. Our meals were excellent and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and very professional. They even brought me out a birthday firework ! Attention to detail in everything they do. The decor of the dining room is very attractive and the floodlit garden a pleasing feature. What a perfect ambience, for a fine dining experience. We had a fabulous meal and will return to what has to be one of best restaurants in Cheshire."

This is our gorgeous go-to locally based amazing little restaurant. We have been coming here for the past 5 years. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing restaurant! My partner and I came here for valentines evening and couldn’t fault any part of our experience. From the moment we arrived we were treat as friends not customers, we had only eaten here once before, so it was nice to be made to feel comfortable. The food was outstanding, we had starters and mains which were truly mouthwatering.. Can’t wait to come back..

Saturday for our much awaited second visit. wow, just as good as our first visit. visited many restaurants in the northwest, and further afield, and this is our favorite. we travel over 25 miles to come here. it zigzags every box for us. beautiful picturesque location, many parking spaces directly outside, stunning decoration inside, crisp white cotton table cloths, fresh flowers on the table, excellent friendly service and delicious food. eating is fine. Very very expensive for very average food, definitely not worth the money, fresh green vegetables were NOT included on the roast only one carrot, potatoes were very dry and over cooked, starter took 1 hour to come and was very salty, wouldn’t recommend save your money and go somewhere decent. They also charged us an extra £6 for asking for extra gravy and gave us the smallest pot between 5 people. Staff were nice enough but didn’t ask if we would like any nibbles as we waited over 1 hour for the starter. Super poor experience.

This French restaurant exceeded expectations with its lovely cuisine and charming ambiance. We came on Valentines night and the place was busy and we were well looked after by the front of house staff. The musical accompaniment was outstanding. Food wise, each dish showcased a perfect blend of flavours, highlighting the culinary finesse of which we had been recommended to us by friends. The attentive staff added to the overall delightful experience, ensuring a memorable evening. The intimate setting and impeccable service make it a top choice for those seeking an authentic and delightful French dining experience. Highly recommended and will defiantly eat here again soon. Words cannot describe how disappointed our party were with this restaurant. it certainly is not the restaurant. It was a few years ago where you were guaranteed to get good food and personal service. We went with friends for my birthday meal. We were taken straight to the table as there was no room to have a drink at the bar. Their didn’t appear to be anybody significant front of house – and considering the prices they charge. I expect a bit more fuss to be made. The menu is very limited and to be quite honest I struggled to find a starter that I actually would really like. The restaurant lacks ambience service and an interesting menu. I certainly won’t be going back there in a hurry, unless... Visualizza piatti

I have been meaning to write a review after yet another wonderful evening and excellent food. To read some previous reviews they must have eaten at a different restaurant! To rate a one or two star is not in my view fair . We have only ever had amazing/ tasty meals. This particular evening I have to say WOW , amazing service as always , very welcoming, the food was OUTSTANDING. Beef wellington was absolutely fantastic. Our bill was just under £400 for the four of us including the service charge which in my opinion very deserving. My daughter and I had a cocktail each and her partner had a beer and a bottle of red with my husband and table water . The atmosphere was wonderful with a gentleman...

I booked a table for Christmas Day for two, the only time they had was 12.00. The menu was £150 each , we had smoked salmon which was nice, ballotine of turkey which we didn’t like. I know ballotine means boned and rolled but it was not sliced and came as one very thick piece with gravy and an accompaniment of the tiniest sprouts on a purée I think of parsnip, and a tiny square of stuffing. The waiter brought two roast potatoes each separately . The dessert was Xmas pudding and brandy cream. I had two cocktails and my guest two glasses of wine. There was also included a glass of champagne on arrival, and an amuse Bouche and an appetiser during the meal. There were only 12 people in at 12.00...

"Having successfully deposited our eldest in her new Uni digs and having enjoyed an evenings kip in an adjoining Manchester hotel we were in two minds where to breakfast. MrsC’s growing angst over the likely state of our home after allowing our youngest free rein for a garden party proved persuasive so we decided on an early exit an victuals en route. A scan of Happy Cow and Google combined allied to our southbound travel threw up Wild and Wild as a convenient stop off before we rejoined the M6. Pleased to see that it opened at 10;00am on a Sunday whilst registering our likely arrival at 10:15 we added the required SatNav waypoint and trained our behemoth on its new path. There was convenient free parking on the Sunday and we ambled on the pedestrianised section to Wild and Wild; sitting slightly incongruously next to a Costa. The place is light and well laid out and an enticing array of cakes and pastries greets you as you enter. The usual instructive board informed us “to please wait to be seated” which we did. The young lady who appeared to be both front of house, barista and server said she would be with us after serving her present customer; which was fine but, in truth, simply having the menus on the tables and allowing you to sit yourself at empty unreserved tables would seemed to have been the least intrusive and effective means of managing the flow? Anyway we were handed drinks/food menus and then informed that we could, in effect, do exactly that and seat ourselves. The breakfast/brunch menu was concise but convincing and for speed and efficiency MrsC and I settled on two “full English”, vegan of course, and two oat milk lattes. Queued again and gave the order and paid there and then. Though we haven’t been out too much recently the coffee prices seemed about right but the breakfast seemed a tad high. Understanding how inflation is hitting that might just be an impression but if we had stayed in Manchester and returned to the Lounge a similar menu would have been 30% less. Then it started going awry. The wait for the coffee seemed long; the wait for the food almost interminable (around 40-45 mins in truth) Halfway through that wait another server had magicked into operation and it switched from queuing to order to table service. She was professional enough to highlight to new incoming customers that drinks would be about 10 mins/food 30. Something not considered worthy of note to us earlier arrivals. The breakfast was ok. The vegan sausages appeared homemade with rice wrapper “skins” but they were woefully dry and overcooked. The whole vine of oven roasted cherry tomatoes were good as was the star of the show the Smokey “baked beans”. The toast was good quality bread but cut too thin to successfully soak up both beans and the sweet tomatoes. The other components of mixed greens and mushrooms and tofu scramble were under seasoned and a little bland. The potato rosti was a little dense but ok. Sadly the food was underwhelming and more so due to the long wait; ill fitting the vibe and the surroundings especially as the place wasn’t heaving at any time. Always feel awkward knocking eateries in these uncertain times but, in this case, expectations raised by the feel of the place allied to the prices charged, we’re not met by the quality of the food. Perhaps it’s better suited to an afternoon cake and a drink session? Disappointed."

"Wow!!! It has been many years since my last meal at the Brownlow. My late wife Dee and I used to dine here regularly. After her passing, I spent a lot of time working in Sub-Equatorial Africa, providing water to remote areas. Now that I am back in Congleton, some of my neighbors decided to take me out for a birthday lunch, and to my surprise, they chose the Brownlow. I was a bit apprehensive, as the restaurant held so many wonderful memories for me. However, from the moment I walked in, any doubts I had were quickly dispelled. The warm greeting and smile at the reception desk set the tone for the rest of our dining experience. We were promptly seated with menus in hand, and our pre-meal drinks (a perfectly chilled Pinot) arrived with efficiency. The professionalism displayed in serving our meals was commendable and something that is often lacking in other restaurants. The presentation of our dishes was impeccable, and the quality of the food was evident in the clean plates at the end of our meal. I have always believed that people eat with their eyes first, and even those who prioritize presentation would be pleased with the artistry on display here. I will have no problem recommending the Brownlow to my family and friends in the future. The whole team's friendly and welcoming demeanor made for a pleasant dining experience. Special thanks to Simon, the chef, for a job well done - you definitely deserve a raise! I am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for a memorable meal. Norman A Dean."
