"We finished our tour of the castle at about 1pm so didn't have time to go back to the bikes, get kitted up and look for somewhere to have lunch. So we decided to eat on site. Very often the food at attractions isn't all...that great, but here we were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was friendly and helped us with the menu. She recommended the tavern special which was a confit duck leg, some delicious garlic potatoes, and a huge salad dressed with walnut oil and goats cheese. As it was a nice day, eating on the terrace with such great views was lovely. It really was very good and very reasonably priced. If I visit the castle again I would also eat here again."

Small restaurant perched at the foot of Castelnaud Castle. Very pleasant view of the fortress and the Dordogne valley.Very content (course flat dessert at 15.5€) and menu made of fresh and local products. Very correct portions. the must: famed ice, even bocuze said good! Visualizza piatti

at the foot of the castle, in the shade of a protected terrace, we spent a good time with family.Good value despite the very close proximity of the castle. the plates are garnished and the dishes are cooked on site. I keep a memorable memory of the purée of the childbon menu address

Charming open air restaurant with good food and good service to match. I had a smoked salmon salad and walnut cake then coffee. The cake was a little disappointing. The prices were typical for the region around 80 € for four It is so nice...to have this type of place next to major tourist attraction.

All nine of us enjoyed our lunch and beers in this beautiful terrace restaurant on the grounds of Chateau de Castlenaud. The 'Tartarsauce' with the hamburgers is wonderful. Nothing related to fishing in the USA, but more like a whipped cream fraiche. Besides food and service, the views cannot be beaten. Visualizza piatti

We were all hot, tired and hungry after our wonderful trip to the castle and thought we would give this restaurant a try. The food was delicious, great choice and cheap with friendly staff who were very helpful, although very busy. We were relaxed...and not rushed and enjoyed a fabulous lunch and a welcome rest! Very recommended.

Very little copier plates, so the dishes not suitable (where was the foie gras)?!. the pancakes are just not good, elastic, fades and very thick, they are industrial and make 15cm in diameter, the industrial chocolate had a taste more than doubtful: it spoils the nuts and it makes very expensive for a poor pancake that looks like a missed pancake! The worst is the reaction of the waitress, who finds us too demanding. Not a merchant, respectful limit. Don't move. pass your way, it's cheap and cheap for zero quality.

"Overall average experience at the restaurant which is disappointing considering the price level. Food was a 4/5 but service was average at 3 and atmosphere/ambiance was poor at 1. Food presentation was a 5. Foie gras and cheese plate were average which is surprising for the region. Risotto with a supplement was not worth the extra money. Scallops, goose breast and chocolate dessert were great. Service was average mostly because the waiter and waitress would drop and run. I ordered wine pairings and I can not tell you what wine I had as they poured and ran away. As for the poor atmosphere/ambiance, the lighting is way too bright. You need sunglasses. Dimmers need to be installed to create a more intimate/romantic environment. Lastly, there was a table of 7 sitting next to where we were seated. 4 adults, 3 children. The parents allowed the youngest of the three to ruin the evening of many patrons as the child was permitted to run freely throughout the dining room. From one end to the other with multiple stops at our table. When the child wasn’t running he was whining at the table as he demanded to be free to roam. The parents may have thought it to be cute but this was not the place for them or their misbehaved child. The wait staff never even acknowledged this with us during service or even when we were paying. This was the ultimate disappointment as it would have been appreciated had they at least mentioned it or offered an after dinner drink as a way to express their thanks for us having to be seated directly next to the inconsiderate family."
