"I was a resident in the Hotes des Francs for nights, and each night ate in the restaurant. The Menu de Marche was perfectly designed for the business traveller, with courses for and for (excluding drinks). I also receved an...amuse bouche on nights. The courses were well thought out and reflective of local produce, although they relied heavily on the use of salad leaves rather than any real' vegetables apart from in the soup (untried) and the Pot-au-Feu. This was disappointing as many of the meals could have benefitted. On the first night I had the Viande Grille, Frites, sauce au poivre and salade, followed by Entremets de Litchi. The main was as expected and the dessert was lovely but needed something a little more acidic to lift it perhaps if the sorbet had been lemon or passion fruit? Night two I had the crispy brick' of chicken almonds and honey, followed by Chaud Biloute, and then Iced Parfait with chocolate and chestnuts. The brick needed a sauce to lubricate the filling (but was gorgeous), the Chaud Biloute was out of this world (better than Baked Camembert) and the parfait was OK but frozen so solid it was difficult to eat politely (especially as the base was a crispy chocolate rice cake) the flavoured cream provided was out of this world and I think more could have been made of that. On night I dropped back to courses, Pot-au-Feu followed by Tiramisu. The Pot-au-Feu came with a HUGE marrowbone, which while tasty, was far too much to eat comfortably and a little unwieldy as it took over the small dish it was served in. The rest of the stew was perfect and included some well seasoned broth and vegetables, as well as some melt in the mouth meat. The Tiramisu was tasty and came with some fresh fruits which cut the richness well. It was advertised as a Cafe' Tiramisu but I did not detect any more coffee than is standard. I was not drinking so can't comment on the quality or suitability of the wines or beers on offer. Service was attentive and patient with my halting French (with a good degree of English fluency when my efforts ran out) and service is included in the prices."

It is not possible to get perfect dinner at room? You should change your mind. The food was very delicious and perfect serving.

It was the simple solution to eat that night. The service was good, the dishes too, but it was quite expensive. They have good wines though, and the people serving very nice. Visualizza piatti

Varied menu and excellent food. Ate there two nights on the trot rather than try to find somewhere in Soissons centre itself. Well worth dining at this hotel in the Best Western Plus Hotel.

We have dined in this restaurant on more than one occasion when staying in the Best Western Hotel des Francs. The staff are always welcoming and attentive and the food is fresh, delicious and well presented. We have enjoyed a variety of menu choices and...would certainly dine there again.

We ate there as we were staying in the hotel and could not find anywhere else to eat that looked any good. Soissons is not the best of places to stay for a night as the town is bit unispiring. The food overall was very...good but the restaurant lacks ambiance. The price was a bit on the high side for where and what it was. Visualizza piatti

This hotel restaurant seemed to cater for both hotel residents and locals (surely a good sign) and didn't disappoint. The presentation was thoughtful, food fresh and staff attentive and friendly. Started with an amuse bouche of gazpacho, then fois gras poached salmon followed by...rack of lamb lemon sole. Home made sorbet. Nothing to write home about but most welcome after a long drive.

Visited here in a group of after a long day at a sporting event. Restaurant was recommended by staff at another hotel, so we booked and drove into the centre of Soissons. It's situated on the ground floor of the Best Western Hotel, with...ample parking around. Starters were excellent, Foie Gras, Scallops were popular in my group with excellent lamb and steaks for main course all accompaniments were good. Wine list is extensive, although we stuck to soft drinks. Desserts and Coffee excellent as well.

"We travelled in a group of 31 people to Soissons. On our second night we were booked to eat in the La Cathedrale. The meals were pre ordered as a package including an aperitif of KIR , a starter and a desert. There was a free glass of Heineken lager as well. Cost was 41.40 euros per head for our selection as we ordered similar meals. Shortly after arrival the manager Francois shouted at our lady group leader in the middle of the restaurant in front of us and residents of Soissons which did not help the situation at all. We were on holiday. When serving began the Aperitif took ages to arrive, we were not allowed to buy additional drinks which would have suited our tastes better. Main courses arrived and were directed to our table and each person by our Lady group leader. The quality of the main meals was below that provided by the Best Western Hotel a night earlier. After our starter the deserts were probably the next best course. One desert was rum baba and it was not what I was expecting at all. It was a Glass of rum with small baba dough balls in it and cream. The second desert was two cheeses portions served with salad and no bread or biscuits At this point we were asked if we wanted to buy additional drinks. Because of the upset caused by the manager and the bad customer service our table of five paid our bills and left. We would not return to this restaurant not because of the quality of the food, the décor, or the level of service received from the table waiting staff. But because of the disrespect and abuse our lady had received. Buyer beware."
