"We travelled in a group of 31 people to Soissons. On our second night we were booked to eat in the La Cathedrale. The meals were pre ordered as a package including an aperitif of KIR , a starter and a desert. There was a free glass of Heineken lager as well. Cost was 41.40 euros per head for our selection as we ordered similar meals. Shortly after arrival the manager Francois shouted at our lady group leader in the middle of the restaurant in front of us and residents of Soissons which did not help the situation at all. We were on holiday. When serving began the Aperitif took ages to arrive, we were not allowed to buy additional drinks which would have suited our tastes better. Main courses arrived and were directed to our table and each person by our Lady group leader. The quality of the main meals was below that provided by the Best Western Hotel a night earlier. After our starter the deserts were probably the next best course. One desert was rum baba and it was not what I was expecting at all. It was a Glass of rum with small baba dough balls in it and cream. The second desert was two cheeses portions served with salad and no bread or biscuits At this point we were asked if we wanted to buy additional drinks. Because of the upset caused by the manager and the bad customer service our table of five paid our bills and left. We would not return to this restaurant not because of the quality of the food, the décor, or the level of service received from the table waiting staff. But because of the disrespect and abuse our lady had received. Buyer beware."

I visited this restaurant on Friday 29th September 2023 as part of a coach trip to Soissons. Within 20 minutes of arriving, sitting down and waiting patiently for our aperitif and pre-planned ordered food to arrive, we were shouted at by a very rude and vile man (not sure if he was the owner or manager) that we were the worse group he has ever dealt with and we did nothing to deserve this sort of attitude. His behaviour was disgusting, disrespectful and completely unnecessary. He then proceeded to tell us we were not allowed to order any drinks from the bar!
