"Malgré les mauvais commentaires sur ce restaurant, on a quand même voulu tester. Les restaurants de poisson à LIMOGES étant rares. Effectivement le cadre est vieillot avec vu sur un parking, les voies et la gare SNCF... Le personnel en salle : à part Georges, le reste se force clairement à sourire et à essayer de vous être agréable. A 35€ le menu unique entrée plat dessert, ils devraient être au TOP. Et bien non. Des surexcités du bocal qui se croient à la foire. Les plats : l’entrée on a choisi des fruits de mer. Rien à dire. Bon ils ont réussi à oublier la sauce vinaigrette et le beurre sur l’une des deux assiettes d’huîtres... À 35€ on ne peut pas demander l’impossible ! Les plats : viande (bœuf et canard). Et oui, à part la morue pas de poisson dans le menu. Boisson : l’eau pétillante qui vous est proposée est de l’eau de réseau (= du robinet) filtrée et gazéifiée...vendue 4€ !!! Immonde. Finalement on n’a pas pris de dessert. Du coup la formule entrée et plat descend à 27€. Juste deux cafés pour finir le repas. Montant de l’addition 64€ !!! Une arnaque. Il y a 100 fois mieux sur LIMOGES à ce prix-là. En l’état actuel, à éviter."

Fruits de mer excellents ! Accueil chaleureux. Nous avons tous pris des plats variés (viande et poisson). Viande limousine excellente et tendre. Poisson délicieux, je recommande la sole ! Service très sympathique.

Hébergée à l'inter hôtel atrium, nous avons profité du bar et du restaurant tous les soirs avec un menu différent chaque soir. Un accueil excellent que cela soit du gérant ou des employés, des plats de qualité, bref un réel plaisir à tel point que nous n'avons pas envie que la semaine se termine.

Visited here for dinner as we received a discount staying in the hotel next door - glad we did! Had an excellent meal and the service was very pleasant and friendly. Everyone in my party were impressed with the food, and after sampling most of their dinners I can confirm it was all very nice! I had the Burger special Relais which I would definitely recommend! One of the few restaurants in the area open on a Sunday night, and it was relatively quiet.Very enjoyable evening overall and I would recommend for anyone in the area! Visualizza piatti

Je ne garderai pas un excellent souvenir de ce restaurant si ce n'est la gentillesse et l'attention de la serveuse. Par contre elle m'annonce aucun menu ou remise en partenariat avec l'hôtel attenant malgré les avis lus ici ... Je ne lui en tiens pas rigueur.Pour le repas, j'ai du vider le sel et le poivre sur les choux de ma choucroute... faut penser à faire qqch ... sinon charcuterie avec correct mais un peu plastique pour les saucisses.Une pinte de Carlsberg. Y'a mieux mais ça suffit pour mon plat.Un café sans petite douceur.Au moment de payer ben je ne suis pas surpris ... ça pique un peu quand même. Je ne suis pas exigeant car en déplacement professionnel. En perso ...

De passage pour une halte sur la route des vacances l'hôtel où nous avions réservé notre chambre nous à proposé ce restaurant à proximité ce qui nous allait très bien car nous ne voulions pas reprendre la voitureAccueil pas très chaleureux car nous sommes arrivés un peu tôt 19h00 et on nous a dit qu'ils n'étaient pas près et que ce soir là la carte était limité car il avait une soirée paella et que c'était au menu soit paella soit quelques plats limités On nous installe près d'une baie vitrée car les places elles aussi étaient limitées, il faisait un peu chaud à travers la vitre donc pas très agréable pour manger Après un bon quart d'heure d'attente on prend notre commande y compris les bois...

"Booked the day before, we arrive a little late, no worries for the welcome which was charming: First glances, the dining room is cozy, the armchairs cute, the restaurant decor is trendy. Low volume music giving the nice soundscape. The starters were as tasty as they were well presented, even a little surprise in the association of tastes. The dishes, more traditional, were very well made, no errors in cooking or seasoning, the sauces highlighting the meat well, and the effort of presentation always welcome. The wine advice was perfect, my glass of Corsican wine was even surprising and went wonderfully with my beef. We were able to taste only one dessert, because we had eaten well before, the chocolate cake was very good as well as the accompanying vanilla ice cream. "Only just of the beaten track which makes parking much easier! This restaurant is expensive in relation to others but is good value considering the quality and service. The menu takes a bit of working out as prices for steak are quoted by weight (multiples of 100gms) and the minimum weight you can order is also stated. To make matters more complicated you can also chose how many weeks the meat has been matured for. Whether you choose Classic or 4 week mature, the quality is all good and extremely well cooked. Even meat cooked very rare is melting. This is a "proper" steak restaurant so make sure you go for the steak. There are fixed price menus but I would keep it simple. Steak, chips with its side of vegetables. Pork and lamb is also available and there is a concession to non-meat eaters in the form of a mushroom omelette. I am sure it is delicious ......Wine is also priced at the top end and excellent. . House wine is also very acceptable.Whenever we have visited the clientele have been all French from the professional classes who are there to see and be seen. Its fascinating ! One little niggle. At the price, the amuse bouche could have been more exciting than a thin slice of fairly mundane salami with a chunk of bread. For faux filet (250 gms) and a large entrecote steak (450 gms) , with a bottle of AC Beaujolais the bill will be around 70 Euros. A starter and pud could increase that by at least 20 Euros. Nevertheless, recommended for the quality, service and ambience. The staff are really charming."

"Okay. Pin yer lug holes back. :-) Was there last Sunday (again).I've read all the French reviews. They usually describe it as "simple food". It is to them cos they all like to eat Duck 5 ways & taste the same dish in every resto everywhere they go. It has to be precisely the same as every other gaff. If not? They won't go back.Jonny Foreigner isn't like that. We love the spices & variety of our Lives!French folk expect to be snarled at by waiting-on staff who sell them usually very ordinary ruge for 34€ a bottle. Makes them feel like they're at home. :lol:This lovely informal gaff is not like that. Deep Joy! You've found a gem.It's AWESOME for foreigners (who want to enjoy a varied menu & great grub at the right price in a wonderful place and, unusually seek to engage with happy, smiley & attentive staff). Washed down by a glass of something hoppy. At around 6€ a pint ;-)Fish & Chips remains the best we've ever tasted in France (shame about the frozen frites). Duck Burger is equally good. No idea about anything else on the menu cos we haven't needed to try anything else! Portion sizes are huge. Take your own Malt Vinegar.Can't recommend l'Irlandais highly enough. One of very few gaffs in SW France which caters for their audience. Let's be right. We all know why we go to an Oirish Bar, don't we? You will not be disappointed.Big Tip: Do the Brocante in Limoges in Autumn (October is usually the best time in our experience). Not filled with Tourists. Not too busy (yet busy enough). Bar l'Irlandais sits bang in the centre of that action. Park on Bvd de la Corderie if you can (which is closed off to provide car parking specifically for this monthly event). Do a few stalls, have lunch there then do the rest of the stalls (and explore the medieval centre of Limoges cos it's lovely in many ways). Book a table for 12.30 & the sun will appear over the high medieval buildings at the perfect time. Been in this area for 14 yrs & happy to pass the info on. For the benefit of others who may not be as experienced.YOU MUST BOOK A TABLE on the phone before you go on a Brocante Sunday! It's okay. They won't pretend they didn't understand nor snap your head off cos you pronounced "réservation svp" incorrectly (like so many other gaffs in France will).Real place, real food, real staff and long may it continue to provide a varied diet for everyone. The Guinness is always good. Draught of course. In pints. How refreshing. :-)"
