"Already on arrival at the restaurant to eat for two, we were told to sit down without really worrying about it, in the restaurant, we do not feel comfortable, staff overwhelmed, not organized, no communication (we came to ask us twice if our order was taken), to get sauces, we called a waitress (who also seemed to be the boss), at the head she made I thought she was going to send us walking around, frozen fries, bad, overcooked aligot, country ham that seemed open the night before. A waitress who runs between the rooms and the kitchen, the boss who puts our glasses on the table without saying a word to us, we could have felt attacked. For the first time, I had no regrets not finishing my plate and we went to have dessert elsewhere. To flee. We haven't tested the hotel, and we won't try it."

"We have been to the Gabariers many times. In fact every time we have visitors we take them there because of the wonderful site; there is very little that can beat sitting on the quays in Argentat on a lovely sunny day and, if you want to eat, then there is very little choice.The food is OK, that's about all one can say; we have never had a truly bad meal but neither is there any attempt to refinement. Pretty much every dish comes with the same boring salad and some dishes have been quite heavy. Desserts are massive but the sort you get in a cafeteria. The worse thing about the place is the owners. Having been there at least 20 times (and we book every time so they know who we are before we turn up) we only get a small smile from Mrs and no acknowledgement whatsoever from the haughty husband. His extraordinary moustaches could be quite fun - if only he himself was at all pleasant. In all, we will continue to go there because of the location but the experience could be so much better!"

"À fuir.! Ne vous fiez surtout pas aux photos qui donne envie, c’était les anciens patrons! Connaissant Argentat et la région je ne m’attendais pas à retrouver le Tivoli si réputé à l’époque dans cette état. Pas d’accueil, pas de carte proposé donc pas de prix. Nous avons quand même pris une salade cesar grand étonnement de retrouver du poivron et de la coriandre ? ou sont passé les tomates, croûtons, parmesan? Vinaigrette insipide poulet gorgé d’eau et pain de la veille prix : 15 euros . Le tout servie par le patron qui est plus que désagréable et pas du tout à l’écoute. Travaillant dans la restauration je vous assure que je n’est jamais vue ça. Petit point positif pour l’équipe qui travaille avec ce « patron » je vous souhaite bon courage pour la saison qui ne fait que commencer."
