"On a visit to Nontron with my wife, we have lunch in this nice brewery on the terrace. In the oven, salad and fries for my wife and I omelette ham-cheese, fries. Good and efficient, accompanied by two pressure beers. Small coffee to finish this little meal. The 3 very friendly waitresses, despite the terrace had filled and people were waiting to eat. Reserved or failing to arrive at noon pile like us. I recommend this place nice and good value/quality price."

"Nous sommes arrivés à 10, un vendredi soir d'août, sans avoir réservé. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par un serveur un peu navré de devoir nous dire que c'était complet ou sinon, il fallait attendre 45min avant qu'une table se libère. C'est finalement ce que nous avons fait. Le jeune homme nous a invité à nous installer dans un peu salon extérieur en attendant. Une fois la table libérée et nous tous installés à table, le service était plutôt rapide et les 3 serveurs qui s'occupaient de notre table étaient souriants et très agréables. Toutefois les serveurs ne sont pas tous d'origine française, ce qui pose problème quand on demande des renseignements sur ce qui est proposé à la carte car il ne savent pas toujours l'expliquer... Au niveau de la qualité des plats, tout était bon, goûtu et dans de bonnes proportions. En bref, je recommande cette adresse ! Nous sommes repartis ravis de notre repas à La Taverne !"

"This newly redecorated restaurant has been open for years and is located in the Dordogne area of France around kilometers from Maison Rose, our rented home in St. Jean de Paul. We were the first to arrive but by the time we departed...the restaurant was at capacity. We were greeted by one of the two owners, Sara Cabot, who owns the restaurant with her sister. Within minutes we were served an aperitif of whipped cantaloupe with a garnish of what tasted like small pieces of a red beet. Delicious. The menu is set up with two choices of a salad, entree and desert for We drank the house wine which was fine. The salads choices were salmon tartar in a gazpacho and yogurt cream sauce with Greek mango and cucumbers or creme brûlée with duck foie gras and thinly sliced country ham. Both were accompanied by colorful salad greens and were over the top grand and could have satisfied our appetites as a main course. The two main course choices were barbecued lamb ribs or roasted cod and a skewer of cuddle fish with a cream of artichoke sauce. The lamb ribs were perfectly prepared and plentiful and the fish equally so. For dessert we all chose the vanilla ice cream with brownies, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We all passed on strawberry soup and kalamensi. Excluding wine the meal for five was only with a large pitcher house wine coming in at Service was very good and friendly. Everyone on staff appeared to be fluent in English. I strongly recommend you give the restaurant a visit if you are anywhere in the area."
