"A must to try when in Besancon. Love the morteau sausage. So good that I bought some the next day from the market. The owner is very nice and explained their regional dishes to us. For my personal taste, the crumble dishes are quite heavy, but you are not eating everyday and they are really tasty. We started with cold cut.Then Crumble Bourguignon with escargots, Hache de Charolais, both come with green salad. For dessert: Panna Cotta aux fraises creme yaourt and iIe flottante. 1 sofe drink, 2 local beers and a bottle of local wine.Total euro103 for an excellent tasty meal and warm helpful service. Highly recommended. Reservation needed."

Delicious, fresh, regional food at an excellent price. I had the trout, courgette crumble and it was light and really tasty. Great, friendly service in a really cosy atmosphere.

This small restaurant turns out fresh and tasty food. We opted for the steak dinner served with a choice of sauces, with a salad, and fries. The desserts were extraordinary. No negatives.

One of the most popular restaurants on Rue Bersot, and rightly so. Excellent food and good service, together with a good choice of wine and beers. The specialities of gratins and crumbles are delicious and served piping hot. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday evening, booking seems essential. Recommended

This restaurant tops the listing in Besancon with good reason but still retains a genuine welcome for its client. It needs to be booked ahead of time. The food is quite simple but fantastically tasty reminiscent of the food you wish your mother had made! Wines are reasonably priced and they had good beers on offer. We paid €35.00 per person including a good tip. This and le Vin et l'Assiette contrast beautifully so I would suggest eating in both over 2 evenings.

If you're an anglophone visiting Besançon this would be an ideal restaurant. One of the servers speaks English and they have English menus. They have a good selection of regional food and drink. Their food is prepped in advance and microwaved, but still of good quality, fresh produce and easily alterable if there is something in the dish that you don't want. The restaurant is also vegetarian friendly. You really can't go wrong with any of their meals though I find their desserts to be a little lacking.
