"We were at this restaurant using a box that we completed what makes it a meal at 90€ (even if I suppose the box company takes part of this price) It is a restaurant in a small village of the essonne. It's clean but old enough. We had dinner in the veranda where it was hot enough and where there was no air.We had the box menu as the servers say. We had champagne that was very good. Then we have a spring salad that was fairly simple and fatty liver that was fade. Then we took the beef net that was very good except that my companion had his meat very well cooked instead of to the point that is very bad given the quality of the meat. after that was the nut salad where there are some nut shavings that we don't feel during the tasting. desserts were classic without anything exceptional. One of the main problems was the time spent in this restaurant. More than 2 hours, which is way too much especially that it wasn't full. The dishes are served with a bell with the ceremonial that goes with what makes a little kitch in this frame. In the end it makes a much too expensive meal for the setting, meals and waiting time. Too bad."

"I'm a meeting room and I'm used to cooking dishes and so eating meeting dishes. their dishes are mostly pleasant since they are not spicy and therefore unfortunately not to my taste. We must know that our original dishes are known to be very high. Also, I find the dishes excessively expensive for so little in the plate. I'll continue to make my rougail sausage and my chicken spicy, spicy as at the meeting. However, I would like to thank you for sharing some of our flavours."

"Un restaurant très sympathique, on en est très bien accueilli, en est le personnel est très compétent . Petit clin d'œil au barman qui connaît vraiment tous ses produits merci encore à toi. Le dîner était parfait du début à la fin des produits sont de très bonne qualité. La cave a vin et tout simplement exceptionnel. On ne peut pas passer à côté d'un restaurant aussi bon. "Two friends and I walked the twelve kilometers from the train station at Mennecy through a natural preserve incorporating artificial lakes created when sand and gravel quarries were abandoned and filled with water from the Essonne River. Le Chalet des Etangs is located on a narrow spit of land between two lakes. The interior of the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate large groups and a shady outdoor dining area offers a pleasant environment during good weather. We each chose a two-course lunch—main course plus dessert--from the three items on the slateboard: boulettes de bœuf provençale, saucisse de Toulouse chaud and sot-l’y-laisse de dinde with pommes sautées. The first item is the southern France version of spaghetti and meatballs. Saucisse de Toulouse is a mild-flavored pork sausage served warm. As for sot-l’y-laisse de dinde, the English translation is Turkey Oysters, small, round pieces of dark meat on the back of the bird near the thigh. [See photograph. According to the Wikipedia, “Some regard the ‘oyster meat’ to be the most flavorful and tender part of the bird.” Translated into English, the French phrase means “fools leave it,” because inexperienced carvers often accidently left the pieces on the cutting board. The Turkey Oysters were delicious. For dessert, we had crème brulée sprinkled with crushed spekuloos, cinnamon flavored shortbread cookies, and panna cotta with strawberry coulis. I can’t guarantee that Turkey Oysters will always be on the menu at Le Chalet des Etangs, but I am confident that what will be on the bill of fare will be delicious. Service was prompt and courteous. With one bottle of Cotes du Rhone and one of San Pellegrino sparkling water, the check came to $75.00 for the three of us. It is about a thirty-minute walk from the restaurant to the train station of Ballancourt."
