"Yes, Mercer's serves meat, but they also make great efforts with vegan fare. The two ladies are vegetarian and want to offer more vegan offers. However, they were sometimes discouraged by the attitudes of some vegans, even to the extent that they were uncertain, they even wanted to be on Happy Cow. All this came out after we had eaten and when we said we had found them about Happy Cow and were so glad they were there! The owner explained that she cooks and purifies everything completely separately to ensure that there is no cross-contamination, and added that it would be both inappropriate and disrespectful to do everything except. This takes time and she had criticism that the service was not fast enough as a result of vegans. We ordered a vegan breakfast and teas and actually felt that the service was fast. In addition to breakfast (toast, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, sausage, bacon, served with vegan margarine), there were several other options including a burger and a quiche. They also have vegan mayonnaise and offer soy or oat milk. Another criticism was that they did not offer enough vegan choices, but there were definitely several options that we would have gone and we were so happy to find this beautiful place. The friendly staff definitely has a desire to care for vegans and it would be a shame if this was discouraged by other vegans on the way. If we're back in the area, we'd definitely return. We would have given them 5 stars for their efforts if it were allowed."

Lovely staff and place, I had a latte with oat milk (delicious), a vegan pie slice and a chocolate cookie to die for, produced in town. Absolutely recommended.

My husband and I, alongside our dogs, always feel welcome at this restaurant. The vegan fish and chips here are top-notch and the owner pays great attention to detail, even offering vegan tartar sauce on the side. The atmosphere is lovely and we always enjoy our meals here.

After taking a stroll in Avebury, we decided to stop by this restaurant. They had a wide variety of tasty vegan cakes, with some options that are also gluten-free. They also offered a great selection of coffee, teas, and Joy chocolates that can all be made vegan. The staff was very friendly. (Review updated on May 2, 2021)

Wonderful breakfasts and great coffee. 1 cake option and they are working on more. I customised a vegan sausage and bacon sandwich with mushrooms. They even asked how we liked our ‘facon’ cooked. Wonderfully polite and helpful staff. Extra seating upstairs which was very peaceful. At the time we visited a choice of 2 non dairy mills and very good quality coffee. Great place to visit as just a vegan party or with omni friends. Big thumbs up!

We stopped at a restaurant in Marlborough while on a drive looking for Happy Cow and had a delicious vegan cooked breakfast along with a large coffee. The staff was helpful and friendly, and we noticed that the menu offered several vegan choices for both breakfast and lunch. Another reviewer mentioned that the food took a little longer to come out, but since everything is freshly cooked, a slight delay is to be expected.
