We had a takeaway meal from here on a recent holiday. Faultless quality cod and chips, served in cardboard takeaway packaging. Well worthy of high trip advisor rating.

The Mermaids has been our first choice ‘special’ meal restaurant for a few years but this was our first visit since the change of ownership and were were not disappointed!The evening was built around a taster menu with timing perfect to allow the night to drift along without having to wait too long between courses.Staff were very good, polite and attentive. I’m sure all regulars will miss Caroline and Richard but all good things must change and the restaurant has not gone backwards at all.Will we be back of course!

I was pleased to hear that the Mermaids Slipper was to re open as a fish and chip take away with a difference after the focus lockdown.What a difference we ordered takeaway with friends, two of us had the haddock one the cod and I had the skate.All the fish was amazing great batter the chips were perfect all portions came with a slice of lemon, tartare sauce and pickled courgette.We also ordered a pot of the gravy which I highly recommend you get some perfect for dipping chips into.In conclusion it is well worth getting the takeaway you will not be disappointed, I will first on the phone to place my order on Wednesday when they are next open.To all the staff at the Mermaids Slipper keep up t...

We first visited this place for Sunday lunch I had booked it as a surprise for my husband ,when I told him the area he wasn’t impressed until we entered the restaurant,then his impressions changedAs you walk in you are shown to a lovely setted area with settees and log fire to sit and order your drink ,then your glasses are taken for you to your table,you are treated properly sir and madam which really makes a change nowadays We as a middle aged couple hate being called guys Which seems to be the norm Back to the mermaids slipper we had appetisers,then lovely home made bread which was delicious,then main course, oh and had to have pudding to get the whole experience the whole time the staff...
