With all the amuses and little extras, we’d eaten loads of food – for we thought it was bargainous. The cooking techniques used in each dish were very cleverly produced and there was nothing we didn’t enjoy. Great food, great location and great weather. Bliss!

The brasserie. Great place to enjoy a relaxed Sunday evening course dinner. The menu was slightly difficult to choose from as a result of small selection, however when I eventually decided the food was full of flavours and lovely presented. All the staff was friendly and polite. What a shame however, there was no background music to accompany my experience...

Towards the end of Tim treated us to a night away at Pennyhill Park. Pennyhill Park is a beautiful star hotel and spa in Bagshot, Surrey, about an hour from Central London by train. After spending the afternoon being pampered in the spa, we were booked in for dinner at The Latymer, Pennyhill Park’s Two Michelin starred restaurant. The Head Chef is Michael Wignall, who was awarded his first Michelin star years ago.

in the januar the latymer announced that michael wignall go away from him when he had taken over the chef chefs in the gidleigh park and replaced the abandoning michael caines. wignall finally had the call of the latymer, then an aa rosette restaurant that she won her first star in and a later second year later. this left a gap hole and large shoes that had to be filled and fast. for a short time of two months, steven edwards (master professional winner held firm before the renunciation of matt worswick.

the spas and Stars package is a wonderful tasty in the secluded, charming five stars pennyhill park hotel. michael wignalls michelin stars, aa rosette excellent, the latymer, is a fine culinary fest. each court is presented as what can only be described as an art piece. every dish is complicated and delightful. a three-course lunch is far from just three curses. the plates are complicated with incomparable love to detail created. with carbon emulsions, celery jelly and scattered popcorn is every cure unique. the service was impeccable and attentive.

Michael Wignall at the Latymer is one of those restaurants that you wish were nearer to where you live. The food is stunning, the service great and the surroundings mesmerizing. This is undoubtedly on of the best restaurants in the UK and well worth a paying a visit. another fast update today with another meal at michael wignall on latymer on a rainy Wednesday evening. we were very impressed by our previous meal here and hoped that we would have a similarly good meal this time. with a glass crooked champagne in the hand we saw the menu for all seconds before we decided that the only option would be the tasting menu again. I am very impressed that despite a pretty fast return only a few subscript dishes have remained on the menu. the other dishes are either completely different or have received significant changes. a thing that has not changed, but the nibbs are served with the champagne.

It has been a long time since I last visited the Latymer following a less than impressive first visit there. At that time of my first visit, the restaurant had Michelin star but was subsequently promoted to stars a few years later. I do think it is unfair to pass judgement on a restaurant based on a solitary visit (or two… or three for that matter) but I had very little incentive to revisit anytime soon despite living only minutes away from Pennyhill Park given that I could just as easily get down to London where there are a myriad of dining options available.
