Middletons Steakhouse and Grill - Watford

Generally very good food (did have a problem with one of the sides but the waiter did resolve it for us). Excellent service

Tables was too close so you couldn't have a conversation without being heard or overhearing others. Noise from the kitchen, the food was not hot as could have been .

Went on Valentines day. Had a steak that had been obviously sat on the pass for a while and had dried out. Service was incredibly slow (pushing an hour between starter and main) staff were arguing with each other at the pass when I walked past. Won't be returning and I'm hardly a picky customer!

As it was valentine's day we were only given 90minute slot even though we booked a month in advance. Never really bothered us as we only had one course,which by the time we were served still took 70minutes from ordering to finishing so if we did happen to want 3 courses then no way would of had enough time to eat. Also not allowed to order whole lobster and only half ,and it was only seven o clock. Overall a nice meal but wont rush to go back

The food was very good starters and mains were lovely, the dessert while nice was a slight let down. However the service we received was very poor. We wait 25 minutes before we even got asked to order drinks, at which time we also ordered our food. Our starters then came out before our drinks. Waiter then couldn't be found, so ordered 2nd round of drinks from another waitress which never turned up and then had to order them again once our usual waiter reappeared. Took over an hour for our main course to arrive. Our server tried her absolute best to get us our food and ask how long until service but was ignored multiple times by the chefs to the point where she had to pull a manager to go and speak to them. Eventually got our food but the order was rushed and wrong, chips were hard. Rack of ribs were thrown on the plate. Ordered two medium steaks both came out Very rare. Chicken was burnt and tasteless. Ended up leaving After two hours with only starters eaten. Was not charged for any of the food and got what we did eat free. I’ve been to Middletons a few times before and always a had a good experience/food. I was looking forward to the meal all week. First thing I said when we sat down was ‘this is a cosy table of 8’ our elbows were literally touching the next table. Felt uncomfortable having any sort of conversation as everyone was looking. None of the spot lights above us were turned on, we had to turn the torch on our phones on to read the menu, as did people either side of us. The only section in the restaurant with no lights on.
