1 step small up into this larger than expected café. simple menu , easy to read. open kitchen for all to see. outside seating .

Dropped in due to the fact we couldn’t get a decent tea in the nearby hotel. Had two perfect teas and some nice service. Lovely.

Mix of choices quite large very busy on a lunchtime in November. Reasonable choice of food. Sandwiches, jacket potatoes. Fish and chips etc. Visualizza piatti

Although the food and service was very good,i cannot get over the fact that egg and beans on toast with a coffee cost £8.40. If you plan to come here,you may want to speak to a mortgage advisor.

I really enjoyed my bacon and eggs, but was disappointed that there were no fresh cakes available for my friend who wanted coffee and cake. It would be great to see options like a Victoria sponge, carrot cake, a vegan or gluten-free option, and maybe a flapjack on the menu.

The original Mortimer cafe is a classic greasy spoon, in a positive sense. The new location across from the Co-op is an improvement, offering a wide selection of fresh food, delightful service, and convenient opening hours. We went today for a late breakfast, we have been here quite a few time in the past. The food was good but not as good as usual there was a younger lad cooking maybe that's why, my sausage was slightly under and the eggs on the hard side. An off day as we have never had this happen before. we will return again and hope it's back to normal next time.

I am grateful that there were plenty of tables available at the restaurant, as it was quite busy. Our drinks arrived within a minute or two, followed by our food just 5 minutes later. The portions were very generous, particularly the big breakfast which completely covered the plate. I highly recommend this cafe and will definitely return when in the area.

Surprised to find a cafe of this sort in Mortimer. Has the feel of a classic transport cafe or an urban, people’s cafe. But it looked my kind of place, so I made a point of trying breakfast there before a walk. A biggish cafe inside, but I sat outside at a table. Numerous different combinations of a fried breakfast on offer. I chose one with scrambled eggs and--a rare delight these days--fried bread. Also a big tomato nicely charred from the grill, good bacon, a large portion of mushrooms, baked beans, etc. Just what I needed to fuel my hike over to Silchester and beyond.
