Mr Cod - Menu

Had a decent portion of chips at the end of the evening. Reasonable price and portion size. Would go again.

alwys had good food,proper chips. simple chicken and chips menu. lovely curry sauce. great value meal deals.

Food is freshly made. Chicken burger is majority bun and no chicken. The shop is standard. Need to ask for sauces.

Best chicken, chips burgers. Great food, good portion sizes, good prices. I'm there every week! Long queues at weekends but worth the wait. Food is always fresh plenty of it.

We use Mr Cod about once or twice a week, staff are always nice, the food, whatever we order, is always very good and also excellent value. Always busy which speaks for itself and highly recommended.

Despite the uninspired blue (marine? colour scheme and chip shop presentation, both the chicken and fish meals served at Mr Cod are very tasty. Watch out for the chicken dippers which have a strong tandoori taste and were overcooked (not child friendly . With a little tlc could be a great little brand.

It's so so so unhealthy and oily BUT you're obviously not going to visit here if you want a healthy meal, so just enjoy it! Best fish and cheesy chips around and my boyfriend swears the chicken burger is the best he's ever had. Always busy, and parking is hard but doable. Best bet is go in pairs, one person hovers outside in the car and the other goes in!

nasty looking staff who give dirty looks if your not asian no care given in the food and when i went in there i looked at the food hygine rating poster which was signed and dated for the next year on how did that happen ? i have recently looked online and now the rating is 1 also the sauces are in opened pots which have been filled by them cleanliness of the place is not a good look either !

I normally go to Tummy Fillers on London Road for my fish and chips, but have been to Mr Cod on a Sunday the only chippy (well, kind of chippy) open on a Sunday. I would say the chips are nicer than Tummy Fillers, and the cod is only marginally inferior, batter wise. Cod and chips in Tummy Fillers is £6.00, whereas less than £4.50 at Mr Cod. Quality has always been consistently good. My only complaint is that it is almost too popular during the weekends and I've walked away because of the long queues a few times. Having stood in one, the staff are fairly slow. I waited over 20mins once with only around 6 8 people in front of me. Overall, a good quality food at more that reasonable prices if...
