This place is excellent. The food is just like home said my wife who is chinese. We always come back. Have the imperial chicken, the braised pork belly and gailan. You will come out of there with butterflies. The staff is so friendly, it is a family owned authentic experience. Highly recommended.

This is my new favourite local restaurant! Don't be fooled by the humble exterior this place is a real gem. Delicious, authentic Cantonese food. The two sisters jade and Jenny are so welcoming and friendly. The rice with pork, salted fish and aubergine is incredible and the prawns with golden egg are addictive.

Really good traditional Chinese restaurant, run by a local family for a number of years. Very good service, nice and attentive. Food is very good, consistent quality and great value for money. Doesn't look like a lot from the outside but it's definitely a local gem that I'll be coming back whenever I miss some good home cooking. Visualizza piatti

Extremely lovely and welcoming staff. It is a family run business, where they treat their customers very well and you can see that the regulars have sweet friendships with the staff. They do excellent seafood here. Would recommend the oysters with ginger and garlic, and have some Chinese tea alongside this. They only accept cash, so make sure to bring some, or there are some cash withdrawal ATMs nearby.

New Tastes, located at 183 Mare Street, Dalston, London E8 3QE, can easily be overlooked. However, its vibrant red sign and green door caught my attention for the first time. The restaurant offers an extensive Chinese menu, featuring numerous vegetarian options as well. While the seating area is not very large, it looks quite comfortable, though I usually opt for takeout. I must say that the staff is very friendly. The portion sizes are impressive for only £3.50—you'll be pleasantly surprised!

We booked a table for twenty so our friends could experience authentic Cantonese cuisine for their first Chinese New Year celebration, and we were not disappointed. We ordered at least thirteen different dishes, though the quality varied. I highly recommend taking their advice on pre-ordering seafood dishes if you want to try something special like lobster or crab, as they source it fresh from the market. However, I did find the tom yum soup to be a bit on the watery side; it wasn't thick or intensely flavored. On the other hand, the hot and sour soup was thick and delicious, which my partner and I both really enjoyed. One downside was that although there were signs indicating they accepted card payments, they only accepted cash. Thankfully, the staff informed us of this when we entered, so it wasn't a huge issue. It would be great if they actually did accept cards as advertised. The service was exceptional, and it felt like a family-run business. The staff member who served us was very friendly and attentive to customer needs. Overall, I really liked this place and will definitely return!
