No 1 Grange Road - Piatti

Visited last week. Food was excellent, with an impressive range of drinks available. Lovely atmosphere, staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again.

the best toilets I've ever seen. napps, eating sanitary products was not just pub bur. we had a bisque of seafood and saphir. very tasty and very different to the usual offered in pubs.

Had a lovely meal which included soup, hummus and flatbreads, harissa chicken and apple pie and all were delicious. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will certainly visit next time I’m in Edinburgh Visualizza piatti

The servers here were, in our opinion, unfriendly to the point of surly. The orders were wrong, with no hint of an apology; and we waited for what seemed like an eternity in a pretty empty restaurant. The whole thing was a terrible disappointment. Needs...a good manager to sort it out... urgently.

I remember when this place was bierex, it was an oasis for underwater drinkers. it has a shake-up since then, and the better I will start eating, the food menu looks very appealing, unfortunately, what they imagine is not what they get at the end. I have now had several items from the menu, and each time is more mediocre than the last, although much more promise the venison burger, the scampi and the huh with haggis are the best items to order, but are not worth the price they pay the beer selection is a leaving, especially since tumble and craft beer on a much more approached, the offer of subdistorted international...

You were looking forward to having dinner with friends we haven't seen since preCovid days. Based on favourable reports, we booked a table for for dinner last night. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was fine, especially fat juicy mussels, but evening was spoiled...by the arrival of a guitarist who proceeded to sing and play using amplification so loudly that it became impossible to have a conversation without shouting at each other. We asked the staff on two occasions if he would turn the volume down, of which he appeared not to do. Part of a small group but the food delivered was rather poor and cold too, raviolis were hardly cooked and the whole plate was stone cold. Service was adequate, although not amazing and guessing it was the manager, he looked as he walked off the...street wearing some jacket. This is not a michelin restaurant, so not expecting too much fussing with waiters, but that was not right and if the staff serving food cannot be bothered making it right then you know you are not in a vibrant prize winning venue. The food was not of the quality I'd have anticipated from the price. My daughter's broccoli was incredibly chewy; my husband's mushrooms (though beautifully cooked, delectable woodland mushrooms) were incredibly over-salted; my aubergine koftas were very oily, yet undercooked, like they'd been fried on too...low a heat. They had a very smooth texture and tasted like there'd been too much flour added to the kofta mixture and had a bitter, uncooked flour taste: they were stodgy. Popped in at (closing time alledegly), we can clearly see customers still ordering rounds of drinks and plenty of free tables; but are told they are closing shortly and are turned away.. even before last orders... This is the second time this has...happened since post-lockdown reopening; previously arrived at when covid closing time was at and were similarly refused as closing soon'. In both cases we just go down the road to another pub with the same closing time who are miraculously able to welcome customers in their last hour of business.
