"I like this place but it has a serious issue with food. The decor is nice and the owner is too, the coffee is the best in Grantham. We stopped eating here, not because the food is bad but because it takes forever, if it comes at all. The running of the kitchen is a major problem. I’ve frequently seen people walk out after a hour or so of waiting and today my son and I did the same, after waiting 50 minutes for a bacon roll. The cafe was only a third full. There is a sign saying “this isn’t fast food and it’s cooked fresh”, I don’t mind waiting for freshly cooked food but this sign is being used to cover the sins in the kitchen. It needs a proper chef and until that happens the food will be a major problem. It’s so frustrating as it could be great."

I have visited this restaurant numerous times and have always enjoyed the food. However, my experience today was exceptional. The Ham and Cheese Omelette I had was the most delicious I have ever tasted. I would rate it a perfect 10/10. Absolutely delicious. Visualizza piatti

The homemade food at this restaurant is delightful. I ordered the half soup and half sandwich combo, and both were of great quality and very tasty. It was a pleasure to enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the restaurant as well. The staff were helpful and friendly, making the dining experience even better. This place is truly a hidden gem.

2 of us went for Sunday Brunch. We were the only 2 people in there and it still took about 10 minutes to get served. Staff don’t seem to be educated on what food is gluten free and what isn’t. A couple of tables left before even ordering anything. I can see why the cafe a few doors down is packed. The breakfast was very poor, not tasty at all, the eggs were especially bad quality (very rubbery and artificial). Will not be returning.

We come here a lot as my little boy loves it. The food is great, can be a little hit and miss. Some days seem better than others. We love the friendly staff and the apple cake is delicious. The only thing that puts me off coming is the high chairs- grubby and not very safe- I am petrified little girl will fall out- cheap ikea chairs would be a good replacement. Also they have a changing mat but no where to put it apart from the floor- who wants to change a baby on a public toilet floor? Visualizza piatti

This coffee shop in Grantham is amazing! We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in, and when we asked if we could bring our dog inside, they welcomed us again! The space is great, with indoor seating and options to sit under a roof or in the open air. We originally just wanted a coffee, but ended up also ordering a pain au chocolat and carrot cake. The pain au chocolat was warm and delicious, and the carrot cake turned out to be a family recipe that was absolutely incredible. Our dog even received her own biscuit, so she wasn't left out. We left feeling like part of a wonderful family. Don't miss out on this place, go and enjoy!

Visited here for lunch on a Saturday, as we do every couple of months, have to say today was a big disappointment for us. It was busy as usual, they do have a sign up saying we are not fast food, so in busy times there may be a delay which we know. However, today we waited 50mins for a sandwich and salad, we were not informed of our wait whilst ordering. The girls do work hard but there never appears to be someone actually in charge. Once we got our food, the actual bread of the tuna sandwich was hard and cold it 's normally so soft, Hambleton bread) but as we had waited so long and by now were hungry, there was no chance we would send it back! Will we return, probably, but not for a while,...

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
