oskar is a friendly and cozy place to highly recommend a local beer! but don't order her pork it's so incredibly dry that I had the hiccups and so were the French pommes. I have eaten dozens of schnitzels in Germany, but. that is by far the worst at all.

Located in the former town hall this traditional Bavarian restaurant offers a wide variety of local food and drinks. Excellent location for an uncomplicated lunch or dinner at any time of the year as it can be a quite busy place it’s better to...reserve in advance, but even without reservation it’s worthwhile waiting to be seated.

Great German food. Went there 3 times. First time for authentic German dish. Absolutely delicious. Second time for snacks like pretzels and dips with drinks. Third time for late night soup and cocktails. Benedict was extremely hospitable and kind Wonderful experience all 3 times and...highly recommend. Will return when visiting Bayreuth. we eat here, outside and in the week. I chose leber, my wife fish. the portions were large, properly cooked and richly garnished. service was friendly and efficient, and table spacing Covid compliant. good, solid German tariff calorie rich, too much on the teller, no flair for presentation,...but good value for guests with a great appetit and no expectation of fines.

oskar is a fairly traditional restaurant in the heart of bayreuth. it offers German and especially Franconian cuisine to moderate trips. the staff was friendly at any time and the waiting times for the food were acceptable. in the evening the place was packed and I would like to reserve a table in advance. the price-performance ratio was good and the food tasted delicious. a full recommendation from my side!

Visited during COVID-19 just as businesses were slowly opening up to break up a long drive from a business trip. Bayreuth looked pretty dead until I entered this restaurant even though they were fully booked, they managed to squeeze me in, which I am...really grateful for. Service was fast and very friendly, even though this place is huge, with many different dining rooms. There isn't too much vegetarian food (this is typical Franconian cuisine), but there are always salads, beer snacks and soups available too.
