"A trip to Chemnitz was announced in early November. Here we wanted to watch and listen to the new Michael Jackson production “Beat it!” in the Stadthalle. I booked the Dorint Kongresshotel, from which you have direct access to the Stadthalle. And since the weather was quite uncomfortable, we decided to eat Panorama in front of the event at the hotel's restaurant and reserved two windows when checking in. When we entered the restaurant in the early evening, we saw that a reservation would not have been necessary, because we were first the only guests. We were welcomed by the serviceman very friendly and accompanied to our window table. She immediately fired the candle and handed us the menu that had been opened. We first ordered our drinks, two alcohol-free yeast wheat. “With us, you get only the best of regional and fresh ingredients.”, it says on the homepage. The clear map with two soups, two salads, seven main dishes, three smaller dishes and three desserts also suggests this. When the two wheat were well tapped and were on the table, we had already decided. I had discovered on the map “Steak Au Four (14,50 € , pork steak sausage meat cheese Pommes Frites” for 14,50 €, and since I had never eaten this East German specialty from GDR times, I also told the service lady and asked for more information. “This is a kind of ragout fin, but with turkey meat and mushrooms, and then baked with cheese.” Sounded good, was ordered. My husband opted for the “Erzgebirgischer Art” (€16.80 apple red cabbage potato dumplings). This hotel has been part of the Dorint Group since 1 January 2018. Here, the restaurant was renovated and repaired. The design of the premises and the ambience as a whole are certainly a matter of taste. Lots of reddish brown wood, room divider, continuous padded benches on the walls, chairs with low all-round backrests, fabric blankets on the tables, all very nice but nothing special. Especially “fallen” have the loveless plastic strings on the tables and in the low room dividers. From our window table we had a good view, of course, but Chemnitz has not so much to offer from this height of beautiful views, especially not the next morning at breakfast with cloudy sky and light rain. The city looks particularly bleak! A greeting from the kitchen reached us quickly. For each two slightly warm baguette slices and a peel with a spiced quart yogurt dip, quite okay, but nothing special. My “Steak Au Four” court looked pretty sweet. Lots of turkey meat, in the middle with relatively thick cheese layer, plentiful fries and a small salad decoration on a chicory leaf. First, I tried the sausage meat that was absolutely wrong with the name of sausage meat, because it tasted after... nothing, not even after Pute. Well, that's for me anyway. Of the champignons announced there was nothing to see yet, and that was so. In the meantime, the service lady put something on the table without words, but I did not exactly register because I was too busy with my taste experience sausage meat. Next step “sweet” meat with cheese, also little successful, because even the cheese was little spicy and pulled and pulled. So all pushed from the flesh to the side and looking for the **** steak. Yes, there was still a small piece of meat under the thick sausage meat layer, which was not quite dry and therefore quite edible. The best were the fries as they should be. Satt of the little steak and the plentiful portion of fries I have become quite. ; The plate with the Roulade looked more appealing. The two pineapple discs on the red cabbage (as decoration on red cabbage never seen and the rather small roach with the two thick lobes next. The Roulade classically filled, appropriately seasoned, but nothing to get satt. For that, it was probably more likely that the pals that were probably not home-made, even the dark sauce could have been a splashed ready-made sauce. The red cabbage was neat, also acceptable from consistency. My husband wasn't so happy overall. The service lady came back to our table to clean up, looked at my plate and asked for our satisfaction. I told her why I couldn't eat the little spicy sausage meat. She pointed to the bottle of Worcester sauce, which she had put on the table unnoticed by me and without explanation, and on the lemon wand on my plate, and said that I could have strangled. She knew that today was my first sausage meat attempt, maybe my last one. Competent service? At the beginning rather yes, to the end clearly no! Conclusion: The hotel is highly recommended with its good breakfast, rather not the restaurant."
