"We were on the lookout for a good breakfast spread that wasn't too expensive and would keep us going till the afternoon. After going through a number of restaurants on Zomato, we ended up at Papii Cafe and I am SO glad we did. You know they say, when the breakfast is British you make it your favourite meal. We had a wholesome meal that included eggs, toasts, salami, sausages and baked beans. I got my breakfast meal customised to chicken and they agreed with a smile on their face. Two breakfast meals costed us £6.5 each and it was worth it. The ambience is very welcoming, the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable, the place was relatively packed and since it's not too big, getting a table can be a task. One of the sweetest things about our trip to Edinburgh was definitely when our server handed us one of their speciality brownies as a gift. Cheers to restaurants like these that make you feel so welcomed and a staff that is always smiling :"

Just amazing, best chai tea latte and waffles I've ever had. Highly recommend to anybody in the city, easily one of the best cafes in the area.

One of the best spots for breakfast! I tried the crispy speck and maple syrup waffle, and it was worth every penny. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing food quality and service. A little tight on space, but well worth the wait. No service charge here, so please tip your servers accordingly!

The strawberry maple syrup buttermilk waffles are outstanding. The bacon panini has a nice, subtle flavor with just the right amount of oregano—it's not overpowering at all.

Slow service. Place wasn't busy but it took over 30 minutes for one waffle ! . Worth the wait though. Great coffee, great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere. No gluten free options so coeliacs beware.

Went out of my way for these waffles! I ordered the waffles with bacon, maple syrup, strawberries and cream and the berry merry smoothie. Waffles were awesome!! And I loved everything on it. The berries used for the smoothie were oh so fresh, two thumbs up for that, but it was too sour for my taste. Enjoyed the area as well. Quaint and clean. The staff were friendly as well!

Papii is one of our favorite brunch spots in Edinburgh! Located less than a 5-minute walk from Princes Street, it’s a charming and cozy place. Since it's quite small inside, it's wise to either arrive early or be prepared to wait – but trust me, it’s worth it! The menu, creatively displayed on the wall, features a great selection of breakfast and lunch options. Don’t miss out on their waffles; they are the best! Prices are very reasonable, typically around £7-£8 per person, which offers excellent value for money. The bacon maple syrup and strawberry maple syrup options are pure perfection. Located off the high street, away from the hustle bustle, Papii is a secret gem cafe. Though it is small and can't accommodate many at one go but the cosy and extremely warm servers impress you! We preferred ordering generously starting with croissant with butter and jam, chai latte, florentine eggs with toasted muffin and hollandaise sauce, veg panini and ended with a chocolate croissant. I must tell you that each dish was served nicely and the every dish pleased our pallets! The intricate designing on the coffees including the lattes is a must watch. The genius who makes coffees has been a barista for 10 years!! Cheers to the team of Papii who will make your breakfast wonderful. Definitely...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
