"We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was fine although the serving of sauce was very mean. The clotted cream with it is, in my opinion, the best way to serve this pudding, it 's a relief from all the sweetness. The apple crumble was terrible; it came in a bowl with the custard already in it with the pudding. The apple was sour and the crumble was squidgy stodge. The service was fine although some staff not yet fully professional. We would have expected a welcoming hello and goodbye but that didn 't happen. Our overall feeling was that there was serious penny pinching going on with the mains and desserts but this is a very bad idea when you are judged on your last meal but we do intend to try again because it 's such a wonderful building and we 've had many good experiences in The Pheasant, perhaps before the present owners, we 're not really sure."

Fabulous! We enjoyed the most delicate balance of flavour and texture throughout the meal.

Top notch restaurant ideal for special occasions and grand dining. The setting for the Pheasant is an old thatched roof pub.

Yum, yum, and an added dose of yum. My duck egg on bubble'n'squeak for starter was just perfect - one of those dishes I could eat again and again.

We stop here for Sunday lunch on our return from Thursford Christmas Show every other year. It never disappoints. Food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next visit in December 2025, on our way back to Worcester. Visualizza piatti

We have been here quite a few times and it was fabulous initially then dropped off. However, with new management we decided to come and see, we were not disappointed. Sunday lunch was delicious, the beef pink and melt in the mouth. The service was great, not too intrusive but attentive nonetheless. We really enjoyed it and will come back again soon.

We have been a couple of times with friends since it re-opened in early Oct. it is a really well furnished and atmospheric inn, with really friendly, knowledgable and efficient staff. Well located on border of Cambs. and Northants. near J15 of A14. They have a really varied menu servings selection of both A La Carte and Pub Classics, plus sharing Nibbles as alternatives to as well as a good choice of Starters and Deserts. Their Pies are excellent. Great service. Can thoroughly recommend.

Came here with my two boys (11 8) during a mini-break in Cambridgeshire, on a recommendation from a colleague. We had a really great meal at The Pheasant, and beforehand had a lovely peaceful hour reading on the sofa in the bar. What a stunning pub! Friendly atmosphere, beautiful decor, first-rate service and the food was EXCEPTIONAL. We had a few tapas dishes for starters, after which I had a turkey pie which was magnificent; there were good options for the kids, which were classics but done really well. And they were delighted with their puddings too. Very good wine list (alas I was driving) and the service from our waitress couldn’t have been better. Wish we lived closer so we could come... We booked for Christmas lunch at The Pheasant this year mainly because of the high standard of previous meals eaten here since the new owners took over. We were certainly not disappointed ...this must have been the best festive lunch I have eaten (and there have been many). The five course menu was well thought out and well executed. From the delicious canapes to the Starters of which we each had something different..... Soup, pate and lobster all of which were delicious. We all had Turkey Crown and Christmas Pudding followed by coffee and warm mince pies. I must mention our main waiter, Theo.... who was very friendly and efficient and definately added to the experience. Steve and the team a...

In the few weeks after Christmas, many people are watching their wallets and purses, so it was a delight to find that on our visit lunchtime Thursday 11th January the restaurant was well populated and it 's not hard to see why. The staff are exceptional and the food fantastic. It 's the second time we have eaten here; it won 't be the last. There was an excellent value Pub Favourites menu, so I decided on a burger with cheese and skinny chips. Absolutely spot on. Then a generous pud to follow. Included in the £24 fixed price, a glass of wine or a pint. The decor is lovely; indeed our guest said she felt like she was in the dining area of a hotel. The enjoyment of a tasty, well cooked and pre...
