"one of the best moments of my dining experience, is the bread that comes at the beginning which i get to eat with butter, aioli or whatever they get us. unfortunately in Lanzelot they dont serve bread (you have to pay for it) service is not very fast we had to wait around 15 min to get our meals we were a big group, but they could have at least served us our drinks or bread... besides the slow service, the food was really good. huge portions the 'auflauf ' are huge, so if ur not VERY hungry you might want to ask for the smaller portion which is 2EUR cheaper. i had the lamb filet, that was really good too oh and they dont have desserts on their menu... weird"

"Yesterday I've visited my parents for the first time in their new home town Luneburg. We decided to have our lunch in Piccanti. It's a lovely place with modern decoration, friendly staff and good basic food. With basic I mean pizza, burger and unpretentious salads...nothing...fancy, no elegant presentation, but just good tasting food. I personally found the portion sizes the quality of food with it's competitive prices refreshing. But I'm from London... I have no idea how the experience would have been if I'd been purely English speaking (as I could communicate in German with the staff...I'm German). Luneburg is a rather small town and I suspect that the English may be there, but very broken. Overall I'd give it a thumbs up for it's good, reliable food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere."

"This place is styled as an absurd composition of traditional Germanic design mixed with Asian elements, which does not prevent it from being very enjoyable to observe. Nice bar atmosphere with dimmed colored lights, mixed with traditional lusters and Harry Potter-style Video paintings of old kings on large LCD screens, soft arm-chairs, and kamin together with various Budda statues create a charming and cozy atmosphere. The food is similarly mixed in styles. They serve mostly Thai food, sometimes with slight African tones, but also offer sushi (haven 't tried it so can not say about quality), as well as some quite traditional German food. Nice specials for long lasting lunch time, but i mostly go there for dinner."

"Soraya herself is always around and gets fully involved in front of house and makes guests welcome on arrival. Independently run restaurants like this always seem to me to demonstrate a care over food and service that chains just don't or can't. The food is...basically Iranian in origin but not basic. Well spiced meats, koftas and grills are partnered with rice and well flavoured side-salads. All well presented and the service is pleasantly attentive rather than overwhelming. For two you'll spend around with drinks and you're unlikely to leave hungry; most diners being of course German! Well worth booking ahead particularly if you're aiming for a Friday/Saturday dinner."

"By Am Markt in the centre of the old town, if you get an outside or window table, you can watch the world and it's mum go by about their (mostly touristic) business. With over a covers, the place gets busy but, in true...German style, somewhat earlier than Brits might be used to so, it's less busy from say pm onwards but hellishly busy from until then. We ordered rib-eye (Englische med rare) and a steak plate. Both came with a baked potatoe (in foil!!? with schmand. The rib-eye came with a salad too along with a wholly tasteless French Dressing As ever, the salad was tasteless too. Hmmm. That said, the steak was good. Desert was a mixed plate of the usual suspects...Tiramisu, ice cream, panacotta and a cakey thing. Not bad. At around for two inc a G&T, schorle, coffee Chivas to finish, not bad value...but bearing in mind that the price is more towards the top end of what you'd pay in town, no more than average."
