"Due to a fair being on in town we couldn’t utilise any of our usual hotels close to Dusseldorf and found ourselves stuck out in the sticks and instead of our usual trip to the Altstadt were faced with an exciting evening in Ratingen. And...although we were not expecting much, am very happy to report the Ratinger Brauhaus proved us wrong. It’s deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. You enter into the main dining room with some brewing kit at the far end and the bar to the right. But then to the right of the central bar are two equally large dining room areas. Nearly every space was occupied when we rocked up around on this midweek evening but full marks to the Brauhaus for squeezing a party of in within minutes or so. It was the usual traditional meat heavy menu with a focus on pork as you get in Brahauses, with the odd fish dish thrown in. And the five different dishes we tried between us were all good. The Ratinger Alt was also surprisingly good and there was certainly no argument from me when three glasses of this and my pork Knuckle came to euro’s. I may have to come to Ratingen more often!"

Nice staff, good service, the food is just okay, nothing exceptional. A little bit noisy for dinner, but I thing is normal for this type of place.

Had food here which was excellent, but what I enjoyed most was the onsite brewed beer. Excellent choice and fantastic service. A good atmosphere here also.

Lovely decent food at good price. Filled me up with the excellently crafted local Ratingen beer and Diane mushroom Schnitzel. Atmosphere is great. Most tables are taken all the time or reserved but they managed to fit me in. I made a great choice, and...plan to return.

I tried this restaurant not for lunch, but for coffee and drink. Like the other restaurant in Ratingen altstate, uses from yard and square. The inside of restaurant is not big, but is warm and nice with good servants. The prices were reasonable and good...to have a nice meeting with friends or family.

My wife, daughter and I found this place on TripAdvisor and set out to find it. It took a couple of tries to find a parking space but finely did. We were greeted by one of the friendliest waiters I have ever had. The atmosphere...was what I would say as a typical German restaurant. It was better than I expected. We ordered our food and it was amazing when it came out. I didn't know if I could eat it all, but I did. The price was better than I expected, provided that the plate was overflowing with food. I am going back to Germany in a couple days for work and will definitely be going back.
