"We had dinner there yesterday. We had a wonderful evening with delicious food. We're always trying to get food there whenever we're in Siegen. It just fits everything. "I had dinner with my girlfriend in the old guard house at the weekend. The store looks very nice and clean and the table decorations and the counter area are also attractive. We had a seat for two in a niche by the window, there were also a lot of other guests there, which is why it was rather loud and it was relatively easy to overhear other people's conversations. It didn't bother us, but if you like it quieter, you should ask for another place. At the table we got the cards and ordered drinks straight away. I had the ChilliHolly schnitzel with the house fries and my friend had the farmer's schnitzel with braised onions and fried potatoes and there was also a mixed side salad. The ChilliHolly sauce (spicy hollandaise) was also really tasty and went great with the schnitzel. The schnitzel itself wasn't the best I've ever eaten, but it was also stable. The house fries were very good, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just as it should be, so a clear recommendation for this side dish. The side salad was already prepared and varied with the cabbage and carrot slaw hidden at the bottom. After we got our food, we were unfortunately neglected by the service, we were not asked if we liked it and afterwards we only got the cards for dessert when we asked. We also treated ourselves to this after a walk around the Breitenbach. We shared a banana Nutella waffle, which worked great because it consists of 2 waffles. This also tasted very good. Overall, you can highly recommend the Altes Wärtehaus, especially because of the good location and the delicious food"
