"I read a few of the other reviews and can only say that I think action has been taken on what's been said. The barman (who yes, looks a bit like Elvis was nice, the food was great (we had two fish and chips, even though the kitchen had just closed, he made a cheerful successful attempt to persuade the cooking staff to stay and the food was really good! . It's more of a proper London pub (the photo with the red bar stools is from somewhere else with oak panel walls and a bit of a swirly carpet, and in that vein, you are reliant on good conversation, good beer and good food to have a good time. No noisy jukebox, no rattling acoustics, slightly sticky tables (but they're clean . Comfortable seating, lots of space, reasonable prices. What more could you want? I'd really recommend it for people who want a slice of genuine London, rather than a slice of manufactured London. Thanks guys I come infrequently, but every time I do come, it's a relief from the busy, crowded, other places in the area!"

Ordered 2 starters, no communication and no food served after 45 minutes despite constantly being told that it would be with us shortly. We left after 45 minutes and were not given a refund.

£7.50 for a single pint! In a Sam Smith's pub!? The pub itself is an old fashioned boozer, with stains and an odour to match, but not bad if you want an antidote to All Bar One. But, seriously, £7.50 a pint makes it more expensive than most other places on earth, and it's definitely not worth the money.

One day last week I dropped by about 10 minutes before opening time, for a pint outside before having lunch elsewhere. What a very nice pub characterful, and (being a Sam Smith's pub) good value and very shipshape. My brief stay was enhanced by the sociable and highly experienced (stand in) governor, who kept me company outside until he opened the doors. Well done! It was a quietly joyful experience altogether.

In London on short stay visit and was recommended this pub by a friend. Went in just before 6 pm when they served food and sat across from the bar. General lighting was not very bright, but where I was sitting seemed to be darker than the rest, I struggled to read the menu. However, I managed to order some fish and chips, which was fairly average, but tasted ok. I have to say, though, that the Samuel Smith organic lager was excellent. Visualizza piatti

The Red Lion pub appears very nice and cozy both inside and out. It is situated in a bustling neighborhood, making it a recommended spot to visit. However, the staff we encountered was unfriendly and unreasonable. Our order took a long time to arrive and several mistakes were made (such as receiving the wrong food, and being told it was our fault). Despite this, the food was delicious, offering typical pub fare. Overall, my experience left me with mixed feelings.

I was extremely disappointed with the service and food at this restaurant! It appeared to be a charming pub from the outside, and I was hoping for some tasty English pub fare. However, I was met with nothing but disappointment. The food was missing ingredients, some meals were served late, and the portions were small. It was a complete rip off, especially considering the high prices in London. I would not recommend visiting this establishment. It's not worth your time or money!

As Londoners we’ve been going to this pub for years and always had a good ish visit. However I love the location and continued to support the pub as an independent. This occasion however the service was diabolical. And got a new low. The Elvis looking chap was so very rude and arrogant that I will never bother again. Sort out the shoddy service, the sewer smell that takes over the whole pub and make it the charming pub that it used to be. Maybe the constant churn of customers makes them think it’s a nice place to be. Everywhere else was heaving and they kept relying on new customers and everyone seemed to leave after their first drink. Visualizza piatti

Avoid this place like the plague. Dimly lit, smelly and it looks like they have not cleaned or hoovered since the last century. The glasses were filthy, as were the bottles and cutlery. The barman in the upstairs bar was so rude and inattentive, it was like it was a huge effort for him to be there serving, in fact, when he wasn’t serving, he was reading a book! It was Coronation day so I would have thought they would have made an effort as London was packed with tourists. Food was bland with overcooked haloumi fries, and scampi that was cooked in oil that was probably changed the last time they hoovered the carpet. I always try and find somewhere independent to eat drink as I am not a lover...

Being a Londoner, I am ashamed to think that tourists might come across a pub in such a great location and end up entering such a terrible establishment. The pub is large, but it was not surprising to see that it was pretty empty. There was no music or atmosphere, and the whole place felt dark and dirty. The smell was absolutely horrible (my friend, who also works in the hospitality industry, said it reminded her of the stench of rotting mice in traps). The staff were unfriendly and seemed like they did not want to be there. There was no food available when we visited because the chef was off duty, which was probably for the best as I can only imagine what a disaster it would have been. Addi...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
