"There seems to be a black-hole when it comes to places that are listed with vegan choices in this area at the moment, so I thought it about time to give one of them a pop. We ordered the vegan fish (tofu) and chips, and the vegetable stack burger, with a side salad. I was hoping I could mash two items on the menu together and have houmous on a jacket potato, but they were out of houmous! (My inside vegan was screaming, how COULD they not have houmous! For shame, haha). The meal arrive quickly, and it was fair enough, if not dear for what you got. The tofu was just that, but deep-fried, it could have done with some nori to give it some flavour as it wasn’t seasoned, at all. I also found it a bit odd that they used silken tofu for this dish, it feels a bit like that time most of us have experienced early on in the tofu game; getting confused with firm silken, and firm. My vegetable stack came in a brioche style bun, which had me a little concerned, so I chose to play it safe with my allergy and leave it. This basically left me with a place of chips and some veg which amounted to just under a tenner, not that the bun made up for that. It has to be said however, it’s been ages since I’ve had chips and they were really tasty! The atmosphere was really lively, and despite it being 4:30pm on a Friday, there wouldn’t have been space for us if we hadn’t booked, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a visit. I’m thrilled that a pub like this is offering several vegan options, I just feel they need a little more thought than whacking some veg in a bun and plain tofu in the fryer. (talking of which, we asked about the tofu, and the vegetables, and tofu are fried separate to the meat, but I’d ask yourself if you want to be sure)."

The restaurant caters well to various dietary needs. One person in my group is gluten-free, another follows a carnivore diet, and I am vegan. The atmosphere is lovely, and the location is beautiful.

Country pub set in idyllic Cheshire village. Vegan options clearly marked on the menu. Great place, tasty traditional pub food well prepared. The Fish is battered tofu served with chips and mushy peas.

It is okay for vegans. They do beer battered tofu, chips and mushy peas. Beer battered tofu curry and a vegan salad. The food and service is just average, but you can get a vegan meal which is better than a lot of pubs. Visualizza piatti

It's a decent option for vegans. They offer beer-battered tofu, chips, and a muddy dish, as well as beer-infused tofu curry and a vegan salad. While the food and service are just average, they do provide a vegan meal that's better than what you'll find at many pubs.

Our drink orders were incorrect, and the glasses were dirty. We even received wine glasses that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly, which is unusual for a bar or pub. The new glasses had a strong smell of other alcohol, indicating they hadn’t been washed thoroughly. When it came to our food order, two meals were missing, so that part of our group had to wait an extra ten minutes while the rest of us ate. We thought the staff might offer a snack or something as an apology for the mistake, but of course, they didn’t. The food itself was quite poor, with the chips being especially disappointing. When we asked to speak with a manager, it was clear that no one was available. It was...

Felt pretty misled by the listing on Happy Cow for the Red Lion. Drove a fair way to take my mum out to lunch. Attracted by the promise of vegan options being made available in addition to what was already on the menu. Actually there was 4 vegan options one of which was the house salad. Out of 44 listed meals! I had the vegan stack burger was a series of slightly charred grilled veggies (pepper, courgette, onion, field mushroom) placed inside a brioche bun. Lacking in taste; presentation poor; accompanying chips not hot on arrival; side of steamed veg passable...! Attitude from the watress; coffee so strong it was virtually undrinkable, (once diluted by 50% it was ok but very bitter) ...all... Visualizza piatti

With the varied options for vegans on the menu, i was excited to try this place with my family. Seriously disappointing. We were a large group (good money for the business) and the staff couldn 't have been much less interested in trying to seat us. We ended up working the seating out ourselves. No offer to wipe down the table, and the staff were immediately abrupt and seemed really unhappy. Drinks order was incorrect, glasses were dirty unclean and they had run out of wine glasses (never known that to happen in a bar pub before). New glasses smelt strongly of other alcohol so weren 't washed properly. Food order was incorrect and missing 2 meals, so they had to sit and wait another 10 minut...

it seems to be a black hole when it comes to places that are listed with vegan decisions in this area at the moment, so I thought it about the time to give one of them a pop. we ordered the vegan fish (tofu) and chips, and the sweet pile burger, with a side salad. "I had pre-booked a table for six, including three babies. I was informed that three prams wouldn't fit, which was totally understandable, but I was assured there would be room for one pram and two high chairs. We made sure to bring travel prams that could fold small enough to fit in the cloakroom, and one of us even left their pram in the car. However, I was provided with a broken and unsafe high chair. When I requested a different one, a very rude staff member basically told me to deal with it. The pub was also uncomfortably hot and crowded, and we were seated right next to a fire. When we arrived, the fire was unlit, but a staff member came over to light it just behind one of the prams. I politely asked if he could leave it unlit since my baby was already feeling warm, but he ignored my request and went ahead anyway. The food, as always, was delicious, but out of the six of us, only four ordered the lamb dinner, which consisted of just one very lean lamb chop per person. The shared vegetable dishes for all six of us included only one small dish of greens, one small dish of cauliflower cheese, and one boat of gravy. Overall, I felt like we were being rushed and that our presence was more of an inconvenience. I'm genuinely disappointed because I used to highly recommend this place to my friends. After today, I’ll certainly think twice before returning. It's just not worth it, especially if you have children! Safety: Terrible Service: 1 Location: 1 "
