jade is the only restaurant in eat and environment with dim sum. it has been there for more than a decade. it is convenient near.

This restaurant is across from the Evonik Headquarters. I always eat here when I travel to Essen. Good food, nice service and a good price.

this is a great little Chinese restaurant with several extensive menus, including dimm sum and many other options the quality of food is very good.

authentic canton cook, low prices for this type of quality. some of the best dim sum that I have eaten, also quite kreatiw. they add new ideas to the dimm.

We had starters and main courses on a visit with friends.The restaurant is in a central location and is open for Sunday lunch.Unfortunately there were some problems:The waitress got the starter order wrong - they thought one couple were sharing starters which was not the case so by the time the starters had arrived for all, three of the group had moved on to main courses. One of the starters had to go back because it was not hot enough. Then when the bill came it included 30€ of food for another table.The food itself was ok, but the experience overall was not great. Visited Jade last week with business colleagues and yes it was impressive!As regular visitors to Hongkong and China we are always apprehensive when ordering Chinese food abroad (especially whilst not being in a China Town) and prepared for a disappointment.Jade is a bit out of the centre and situated in an office area of Essen and looking very simple from the outside.Upon entering it's surprisingly big in side and we were pleasantly welcomed by the staff. Jade is a clichee chinese restaurant with cute Maneki Nekos, a giant Buddha, an aquarium, various plastic ornaments and of course a piano album playing on neverending repeat. The menu card is gigantic and features an extensive list of Dim Sum in addition to the usual rice, noodles, duck, pork, beef meals. The service is very friendly and prices are at a very affordable level. You can get a menu for two people including soup, main dish and small dessert for around 35 Euro (that's for both people, not per person). Many chinese students recommended this restaurant because of its Dim Sums. On the official website it states that Dim Sums are available from 11 am to 4 pm. We arrived around 5 pm but the waitress told us that we can still order Dim Sums so we ordered a lot (10 Dim Sums). Every dish has a picture so it is easier to order. The food is served quickly and all Dim Sums are very tasty. My favorites are A7 (Fried prawns in rice-pastry or in baked crisp pastry), A30 (Grilled eggplant with prawns & pork with black soybean sauce (4 pieces), A42 (Steamed Cuttlefish with fine noodles (medium-hot) and A 44 (Taro cake with spices, ham and sesame).
