"The food is super delicious and fresh! My husband loves (super) sharp dishes and has preferred extra chilis, which were then added freshly chopped and were really sharp. I'm too sharp on the map! The staff responds to all extra requests and is very nice and accommodating. Preordering food works great and it was always ready for the minute to pick up."

"we have stumbled over this caffe after a long walk. it was like an oasis, we needed a cold drink. inside it is tastefully decorated with a relaxed atmosphere. very clean and comfortable. to our drinks we tasted some cake - a vegan apple-cocook cake and a mandarine with advocate. both were very tasty and inexpensive. the menu consists mainly of drinks, cakes and light snacks. the host was very attentive and gave us some ideas where we should visit and what we should eat. if we ever return to bamberg, we will definitely visit cafezimmer again."

"We were a group of English guys staying in Bamberg for a weekend of beer, sightseeing more beer. Bamberg is, of course, the centre of the universe for fans of beer brewing culture. One of our group found Cafe Abseits on the internet.. it was possibly the best find of the weekend. I contacted the proprietor prior to our arrival to warn him of a group of men in need of a hearty breakfast some local where to go info. When we arrived, tables were reserved for us we were warmly greeted by the owner who proceeded to tell us about the wonderful beer brewing heritage of Bamberg. We were served up a fantastic breakfast the emphasis was on hearty portions rather than gourmet presentation, but we were all, without exception, greatly impressed by the quality size of the meal. In addition to the great breakfast, Cafe Abseits has an impressive beer list, focusing mainly on local produce. We were treated to much inside knowledge from the proprietor during our ordering of beer. A man with an obvious passion for his product ! To cap it off, we were offered a sample beer, on the house, of a special beer brewed by a local independant brewer using hops grown by a local farmer. The owner didn't need to spend so much time with this level of personal attention, but he did we were all blown away by our visit there. It's tucked away a bit, on the wrong side of the train station for most tourists making their way into town. But that only added to it's charm. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in beer who is visiting this amazing town for the weekend. I could not fault this place will remain indebted to the owner for such a warm welcome to Bamberg."

"Perfect service, fast order, quickly served, great vegan offer, different vegetable milk to coffee, all fresh and very tasty. The young service was very courteous, nice and lovable. Very attentive, constantly asking if everything is okay and a champagne on the house for birthday. That's exactly how I imagine a nice breakfast that then, because of the feel-good factor and the great service lasted until 13.00. Very happy next time again"

"I've been to Japan several times and I'm here to tell you this place is great. I stumbled in recently after a terrible experience being ignored at Brauerei Spezial, and had a lovely meal with a cosmopolitan and multi-lingual staff. Real crab in the California...roll!! It's right across the street from the Best Western in Bamberg (which I also highly recommend) and the wait staff was so delightful *I returned for lunch the next day It didn't hurt that it was Monday and just about everything else in town was closed, but still. A lovely bento box the second time. Just go."

"we were in cocoon last Saturday. what is offered here is unfortunately only disappointing. the smoky beef steak had a rubber-like consistency and the taste of the Thai curry court ordered by my man compared to that of an ordinary delivery service court - therefore in a ratio to a very high price more than inadequate!!The service staff was not attentive enough (after taking up our drinks orders we had to sayful 30min to wait for two (!) beverages, also need to be worked on the difficult to understand). For my man and me - as already mentioned - very disappointing, since our very high expectations to the cocoon restaurant in bamberg were unfortunately not fulfilled in the least. it is too bad for the beautiful, modern ambiente! we were for the first time and certainly also for the last time too gassed in the cocoon bamberg."

"Leckere authentische Griechische Küche. Die Chefin wie auch der Chef total Nett, immer für einen spaß zu haben, und immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Wir kommen immer wieder, super gerne dort hin und werden auch immer super herzlich empfangen. Das Essen ist super Lecker. Toller Service. Alles Frisch gemacht. Meiner Meinung nach das beste Souvlaki. Die Speisen sind immer super schön Angerichtet. Ein super tolles Ambiente. Im Sommer einen super Ausblick auf dem Dom. Und wenn ihr schonmals dort seit ist meine persönliche Empfehlungen mach dem Souvlaki das Schokosouffle mit VanilleEis :"

"we had high expectations, which unfortunately were not fulfilled. The main point is the meat, for which we went extra to the steakhouse. the steaks had no crusty chest (word: Maillard reaction) and therefore no roasting staromas we would have expected at the advertised lavagrill. the portions (especially when surfing my man) were not appropriate for the quite high price. Moreover, we are not used to paying for the actually obligatory crimped butter already extra. Unfortunately, my spaghetti in the crusty was also a disappointment. the Tartar "Lot" was ridiculously small, the sauce was quite taste-neutral. not only to mockery: the service was very good and especially exceptionally friendly, although the waiting time for eating was a bit long. that we wanted to celebrate our wedding day and the birthday of my sohne, the price-performance ratio was really not appropriate. Pity!"

"Von dem, was Da Francesco viele Jahre lang ausgezeichnet hat, scheint nichts übrig zu sein. Wir waren mit 9 Personen aus Anlass einer Geburtstagsfeier zm Mittagessen an einem Sonntag dort. 1. Als Apperitiv freuten wir uns auf einen Hugo. Der schmeckte total wässrig! Erst als wir zur Selbsthilfe griffen und mit Hilfe userer Messer vom Essbesteck das Getränk umrührten, stieg der bis dahin am Boden ruhende Holundersirup auf und man konnte danach tatsächlich etwas davon schmecken. 2. Die Tafel der Tagesempfehlungen war in Italienisch beschrieben und teilweise unleserlich. Ich bat die sonst immer freundliche Bedienung, uns zu erläutern, was an der Tafel steht, bzw. uns zu sagen was sie empfiehlt. Die Antwort war kurz: sie deutete auf die Speisenkarte, und sagte da sei alles in Deutsch drin.... 3. Drei Personen der Gruppe waren an dem üppig bepreisten Thunfischsteak interessiert. Vor der Bestellung fragten sie nach, ob es denn auch nicht zu weit durchgebraten sein würde. Nach entsprechender Zusicherung bestellten sie es. 4 Schließlich wurden die bestellten Speisen in so langen Abständen serviert, dass die Hälfte der Gäste, die nach einiger Wartezeit schon angefangen, schon fast fertig waren, bevor der Rest kam. 5. Der Thunfisch war allerdings total durchgebraten, keine Spur eines rosa Kerns war erkennbar und er schmeckte entsprechend strohig. Wir reklamierten den falsch zubereiteten Thunfisch beim Inhaber selbst, der es aber weder für nötig fand, sich zu entschuldigen, noch Ersatz anzubieten oder wenigstens als Geste der Gastfreundschaft einen kostenlosen Espresso zu reichen. Wir waren alle sehr enttäuscht. Schade! Aber da gehe ich nicht wieder hin!"

"It was our second time at this restaurant because we like their great variety of beer. They also have a Rauchbier, that does not taste that much like ham. The food was very good and they have high quality products. The first time we had steaks for which the prices were okay, the second time we had one of the Roggenkönig (type of flatbread with toppings) which was very good, then we I had also a baked potato with salmon. The potato was nothing special, which was a little disappointing but they put a lot of salmon on it, so all in all it was good.The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and from some tables you can see the brewing pots. What I disliked was the music they played, in my opinion it did not fit very well."

Hint: some rough jokes are part of the local serving style to...encourage you to enjoy food and drinks star for the beer diversity (Keller beer would be my recommendation for starters. try one Rauch beer before ordering more, might not be everybodies favorite). Star because that place is always crowded and it's usual to be seatet at the same table with locals or tourists in this cosy tavern. "I was warned with our reservation that we would be allowed to eat and had to go because they were so booked. That was the first point I did not like. Because they were so booked, it took min to bring the dinner....This made that we felt rushed to eat and finish. Kinda the whole reason you go out to a restaurant is to relax and not be rushed. I find that on average with dinner we sit for min with drinks and converstation anyway, but we sure aren't buying more drinks and desert if we do not have time. In one way it is good business but on the other it is stupid. I get Lasagna at every Italian restaurant in every country that I go. This was by far not the best I have ever had. Not even the best in the area. The chairs we sat in were not made for dining. They were outside wicker chairs made for lounging. An extreme poor choice. Otherwise, the service was good and the people were very nice but the e perience and food made this a poor visit for me. In their defense my wife was very happy and loved her pizza. Perhaps I am too old"

"An outstanding restaurant near the Altstadt in Bamberg Germany. We had the most amazing experience there. This restaurant is an absolute destination in Bamberg. It‘s modern, well designed interior has a very nice bar so you can enjoy some of their excellent Gin and Tonic cocktails they offer while waiting for your table. We arrived early so we could savor this experience. They have a nice selection of innovative appetizers, main courses, noteworthy steaks and desserts. The service was impeccable, very friendly and helpful in selecting our dinner items. They offer some great wines by the glass or bottle to accompany your meal. We had a couple of appetizers before dinner. I had a filet steak as my main course that was cooked to perfection the best steak I’ve had in years! We enjoyed a lovely dessert after dinner followed by some superb whiskey. We’re planning a trip back to Bamberg just to go to this restaurant. Reservations recommended."

"Wir waren heute Mittag im Cafe Zafran essen. Der Service dort ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Vorspeise war wirklich schlecht, das Gemüse im Teig war einfach viel zu lange in der Fritöse und dafür hat man es viel zu kurz abtropfen lassen, dadurch war es viel zu ölig, dazu gab es eine Soße ... dafür dass wir ein Naan und einmal frittiertes Gemüse als Vorspeise hatten... ich finde da wäre mehr als eine Soße angemessen, auch wenn diese Soße gut zu dem Gemüse gepasst hat. Das Naan war leider auch nicht lange genug im Ofen, der Teig war noch nicht mal richtig durch. Was man aber wirklich loben muss sind die Hauptspeisen, wir hatten beide vegetarisch bestellt und es gab geschmacklich nichts zu beanstanden, was aber zu beanstanden war, war das Tiefkühlgemüse in komischerweise nur einem der beiden Gerichte. Der Reis hingegen war sehr gut.Das Zafran würde ich für eine Hauptspeise mit Reis sehr empfehlen, geschmacklich sind die ein Volltreffer.Von Vorspeisen und Naan sollte man eher die Finger lassen.Eventuell werden wir noch einmal kommen."

"comesish with friends in the garden, from us drink different beers, wein, whisky or alcohol-free. the selection of food was great. a fusion of Asian and German. difficult to choose what will be their meal. I had a summer viggar roll, easily fritted with many sweets in the inner and tasty and perfect for a starter. then the very helpful server suggested half a part for my hornle with sweet and cocos milk sauce. it had a bowl of rice on the side, but kartoffel and rice seem to be a little too much carb for me. the horns are small bamberg kartoffeln and were very good. I also liked the fact that the meal remained hot all the time that I ate it, which meant that I never had to worry about the fasting. I also had a wine splash that was very tasty with a beautiful fruit taste, and light on the alcohol, tho I ended up with an acute feeling despite the meal. I also tried the smoker beer, and it was really good to have a kind of sweeter or heavier chocolate-like taste, and while it was not something I would like to drink a whole flask, the small glass size was good. I had only one taste of a friend and he liked it too. they also had a large selection of whisky, one of the whiskytrinkers really liked. the fusion was enjoyed by all, tho the veggie with ananas choice was a little mad after a diner, but otherwise the meal really enjoyed."

"my wife and I were eating there on 17.11.16 at 21:00. after the service didn't pay attention to us for 10 minutes we sat down on another table and complained the first time. I ordered a grill plate with bulgur rice and salat. the meat was fried absolutely dry up to the chicken. the rice and bulgur lukewarm and dry. the salat an absolute disappointment, had nothing to do with a Turkish salat. because the whole thing was too dry I ordered a special one, this was offered as an appetizer and got a paprika paste from the glass. I expect at the price, at least over 18 euro a fruity homemade ice cream to the grill plate. total absolutely inadequate performance. Too bad I have to forgive a point."

"kornblume is a bit outside the beaten stretch, in the wunderburg neighbourhood. Among the Vegan options are a small or large flafel plate, spelt pastries and vegetable tacos, all served with large salads and delicious sweet sides. the servings are large and often contain full grain products. in the summer they can sit in a quiet courtyard, and on sundays they have mahr’s brown unpunded a famous local beer, on hahn. "the food, the service, the ambiente, here really fits everything together. the pizzabrot as an appetizer alone was already really fantastic, so well fed and prepared I didn't know yet. a fantastic combination of salt, garlic, olive oil and rosemary. Moreover, the texture was also really super, perfect mix of crispy and soft. everything I wrote to pizzeria also meets the pizzas, for one another from my visit in bamberg, this restaurant is a mandatory stop."
