food was good but not worth the prices. This seemed to be the general trend in Switzerland. Eating our is very costly and I do not know how the residents do it., About twice the price or more of Italy, Germany and Austria.

Das Ticino ist ein italienisches Restaurant mitten in der Altstadt von Chur. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und hilfreich. Die Speisen sind durchweg ausgezeichnet. Man merkt das hier mit Leidenschaft gekocht wird.Die Weinkarte lässt keine Wünsche übrig.

In mezzo alla città il ristorante Ticino ha una bella posizione e dei posti a sedere per tutti i gusti: terrazza interna e sulla piazzetta. Locali al pian terreno e al primo piano (con un po' più di tono). Personale simpatico e pietanze sempre molto gustose. Visualizza piatti

It's always difficult to pick a restaurant when on holiday but you should make an effort to go here. We made a booking online for early Oct and were a little unsure on arrival but when seated in the restaurant (beautiful decor we were served...by a lovely lady who went to great lengths to try an communicate in English. We can be quite the critics with restaurants but the food was amazing (best lasagne EVER! And this was complimented by amazing service and a great ambience. Expect Switzerland prices but definetly worth it.

But make sure you have more than fifty francs in your pocket! It is a very well presented restaurant with good service. I found myself in Chur on my own on a saturday night in advent but was made very welcome. I had three courses which were excellent though perhaps a little too much mashed potato with my swiss meat balls. The killer is the cost of the wine without which my bill would have been a mere forty francs. The barley soup starter was extremely good as was the dessert of a sort of chocolate mousse: the main course was very tasty but like I said a bit heavy on the mash. Schmackhaftes, in währschafter Art zubereitetes Essen; guter Hauswein, freundlicher Service - jedoch hat die Aufmerksamkeit bei höherer Belegung des Lokals nachgelassen. Leider wurde mir (Fischliebhaber!) das aktuelle Fischgericht nicht empfohlen, wie ich später via Nebentisch erfahren musste. Die Speisekarte hätte punkto Struktur und Gestaltung eine Überarbeitung verdient. Das in der Schweiz auch in gehobenen Betrieben erstaunlicherweise noch immer anzutreffende unprofessionelle Bezahlprozedere (die Serviceperson bleibt mit Kassabon, Portemonnaie und Terminal bewaffnet wie ein Ölgötze am Tisch stehen) müsste dringend einer diskreten und die Durchsicht des Bons ermöglichenden Abgabe der Rech...
