"A friend and I were walking around St Goar in the late afternoon on a weekday looking for a place to eat and ran across Alla Fontana. I recalled good reviews on TA, and we decided to give it a try. We were very happy...we did so. We each had a soup (broccoli for me, tomato for my friend), and also both had pasta dishes. Everything we ate was excellent! The restaurant offers simple dishes with simple ingredients but spectacular flavor. Prices were quite reasonable. Our server was lovely and patiently allowed me to communicate with my marginal German. I really loved this place!"

"Where to start a great café! Both the drinks and the food have delighted us. From flame cake to defensive dishes you can easily meet here. The handling of the current Corona situation is also particularly commendable: everyone really tries to minimize the risk and nevertheless offers a great service. Very recommended!"

"this restaurant offers a beautiful courtyard for summer evenings. the service is friendly and professional. they speak English, but they can find the English menu online. the wine map is extensive with a mix of local weeping (from above) and other European sites. all too reasonable praise. we ordered the evening menu with a clear suppe with knödeln, schweinefilets with champignon cream and late zle (a kind of eiernudel) and a cream brûlée as dessert. Apart from the fact that the filets were somewhat boiled, all are of good portion and delicious."

"Service doesn’t merit the price. Should have taken a hint from how gruff the hostess was on seating us, or when we didn’t even have menus while all of the locals. When she was short in explaining the parking, in so doing it caused me to spend an extra euro (not a big deal) but also to miss lunch being served. When asking her what to do with the ticket, she lied about what she had said, then said she doesn’t speak English well, then just turn and walked away from me while i was explaining the correct English phrase. I am sure to merit a spot as the hostess at a popular tourist location her resume extolled her English abilities. While explaining all of this to the manager, the hostess then ran across the room chastising one of the staff in front of the guests. Again spoiling the mood. Worst the food doesn’t merit the price, the veal and duck both had the same sauce. The duck itself was flavorless and over cooked (the veal was lovely)"

"This restaurant was the very first dinner we had on our day Germany vacation. It was packed full of locals but thankfully we were able to find a place to sit. One thing, as Americans, we had to get used to is that you...do not get seated in Germany. You enter the restaurants and pick an open seat and sit down. We did so and ordered easily. The server was running the entire restaurant efficiently and masterfully. She made it a very nice introductory meal to all of our culinary experiences on our trip. I ordered a schnitzel and as soon as she disappeared into the kitchen we heard the chef pounding the meat, assuring us that its fresh : We would recommend having a meal here. The only unanswered question still is: what is the golden pot hanging in front of the building for? LOL"
