"I visited here before i read some bad reviews. Wanted food but i didnt book so just had a drink. Fair enough. They dont have to serve you. Although it was almost empty so i did find it odd they didnt want business when it...was offered especially after covid. I found the ladies running the place friendly and sociable so i am confused about some of the negative reviews. I do wonder sometimes if people expect to be served. I think its not your right its a business and they can choose if they dont want to. I have to say though i was a little dissapointed by the no tap water sign. I was under the impression it was the law to provide this i could be wrong. That said, i can understand to a certain extent if walkers and passers by keep asking and dont use buy anything. I always support small and family run businesses. I would go back here. It was fun talking to the owners. Some of the negative reviews i read and thought hmmm but then i worked in a pub once and you can get rude customers that expect and demand so maybe its people standing up for themselves. I only had one visit so far so who am i to say. My trip was ok"

Had great meal at pub. Starter was king prawns main steak pie with mash and veg then home made sherry trifle. Every thing was home made. Wish we lived nearer would definitely go back. Staff was very friendly as well.

Beautiful ‘home cooked’ food. We had lamb shanks and steak and kidney pie followed by sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble all perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Nice, friendly staff too would certainly go again.

Landlady not the friendliest. Asked for crisps doesn't stock them never will Asked for nuts same as above? 2 pints Asked to sit inside nope food customers only Quite sharp and not very friendly. Decided never to spend there again

Have visited this pub on numerous occasions, the food is home cooked and the fish is always fresh. The host is Joy by name and Joy by nature, she is always welcoming and interested in her customers. I, my wife and friends would thoroughly recommend...this establishment. I am at a loss to understand any negative reviews and would suggest they be ignored try the pub for yourself !!!! We book the pub Sunday lunch for when we arrived with the caravan to stay .Helen who met us at the site was really helpful and pleasant. We then went straight to the pub ,greeted with smiley face ,seated and ordered. We had a lovely...Sunday lunch which was piping hot ,and plenty of food. They were very attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meal . We will definitely be back thank you

we were on the camping site and booked a table for 7.00 clock for both of us and our nephew and his wife. the A27 was closed and their arrival delayed. around 7.10 we were called by the website to check the booking. I apologised for the delay and said we were there in a few minutes. We arrived at 7.20 the renter told us very rude and blunt that we were too late and they had closed the kitchen! when we protested at such a high treatment, we were told in uncertain conditions that we should go to another pub! absolutely horrific attitude - we would never see coming here again.
