Sohar's Kosher - Piatti

This is not a fancy restaurant, but good honest, tasty kosher cooking. Enjoyed it very much. The wine is not much. Have the duck breast! It si delicious

The main value for me is that its kosher with fast service and fresh/tasty food. Its value is less for people that dont keep kosher. Order humus/flafel as an entree and chicken for the main. Both were very good. Together with a beer and a tip it came out to a little less than 30 euros.

The dishes are nicely prepared and are served at any time warm. This restaurant actually has potential to become my next favorite place. Not only the nice staff was the absolute hit during my visit, but also the good climate. I had the displeasure of eating Sohar's food while on an aircraft to the US. Taste was very bland, the meat very dry. The rolls looked so awful I did not even try them. plates were small so I felt starving the entire flight. Assuming that the food, which was wrapped in wrapping with company logo, shall serve as an advertisement for the restaurant, I recommend to avoid this place.

I wish I knew what they put in their cholent because I want to make it at home!this place has literally the best cholent in frankfurt, no question.The spice and the way it brought out the flavor of the chicken, the tenderness of the meat as well as the seingly hand selected pieces of chikcen were excellent, not too soupy, and not too many potatoes.the potatoes that it did have were pre-grilled-another thing that made this cholent almost world famous

In our family dad and both kids have Celiac Disease AND we eat kosher so when we travel we basically bring our own food from home. But we wanted one special meal on this trip and I found Sohar on-line and emailed a month before our trip.They don't have a gluten free menu, but by contacting them ahead of time we were able to work out a fabulous meat meal that was safe for the Celiacs.There was a question about one ingredient after we got there and they brought the package out so I could confirm it was gluten free.The food was excellent and the staff really wanted to make sure we got our special meal. It's a shame that this is the only Kosher restaurant in Frankfurt. I went here with a friend. The place is located inside a Jewish community center with a bunch of Israeli guards. High security.The restaurant itself is quite fancy looking and very spacious. That was nice.The food was awful. I knew it would be expensive as Kosher restaurants always are but I expect the food to at least be good for such a price. The buns were still frozen inside! If that wasn't bad enough, the food was awful, came with frozen vegetable sides and we didn't finish it.The waiter was rude. There was no music but instead we got to hear the occasional horrible "singing" of someone inside the kitchen. Not charming at...

I went to Sohar's, Frankfurt's only kosher restaurant with two Israeli colleagues who were attending the same conference as I in Frankfurt. The restaurant is located in the Gemeinde, or Jewish Community Center in Frankfurt's Westend District. Like many such institutions in Western Europe, one has to pass through security in order to get in. Once in, however, the reception and service are warm and friendly, and the setting rather elegant with white table cloths and linen napkins. The food was good, hearty fare, but not gourmet, and certainly not as good as Einstein's, Munich's kosher restaurant which is definitely a notch above. [CASH ONLY-no credit cards] On the one hand it is a Kosher restaurant - if it wasn't here there wouldn't be another choice in the City...at least that is what our research showed and was confirmed by the owners. On the other hand it is a mediocre restaurant in a community center. The staff is perfunctory but accommodating and they will help call you a taxi. It is in the JCC which is a very secure installation. The roadway is blocked off so its one way in front with no stopping allowed. You must press the buzzer to admitted in the gate - once inside there is another security and ID check.
