"There is a lot of good and bad things to say about Southwater country park and their cafe. The park its self its very beautiful and is a nice walk there is a few things that need updating but on a whole its very pleasant, the children's play area gets a bit over Crowded but that is the case in every park there is beautiful swans on the lake and I think it would be a very relaxing place to visit in the summer Went to the cafe for a coffee and a bite and ot was my first and last visit. It was very busy inside no social distancing and only one sanitizer station. They had very loud music playing that made it very difficult to hear the lady taking our order There was 4 staff in there one seemed to be in a tiz not really knowing what she should be doing.Anther one with a mass of messy blond hair lingering in the background. The girl making coffee was very calm and the coffee she made us was ok, I've had better but I've had worse. The lady on the till seemed to lake basic customer service skills and was very abrupt and shouted at us as she thought we was leaving at the entrance but I was grabbing my child who had attempted to run off.We had two lattes a egg mayo baguette sausage baguette and a kids lunch box this all came to £20.30The coffee was passable seemed to have no taste the kids lunch box was very reasonable but the ham sandwich was dry the sausage baguette was soggy and to top our bad experience off the egg mayo baguette had a long blonde hair in it.Because of how busy they was we decided not to make a scene and go somewhere else If I was to visit here again I will bring a pick nick next time"

Have used the cafe numerous times, everytime we've eaten there the sandwiches have been great, really good value. Can highly recommend.

We have had lunch and coffee here several times. There is a great selection and the food is lovely. You can sit outside overlooking the lake or inside if it’s raining.

Been a couple of times this year. Last time last weekend. We’ve had coffees and ice cream. Staff were friendly. A little expensive but no more than you would expect at a park cafe type place. Toilets outside were clean

It is a year since we visited Southwater and we again found the service and friendliness up to standard. The food although not great value was at least hot and fresh. The coffee was average at best, but overall a very worthwhile stop. The ease of parking is good and at £3.00 all day is good value.

Had enjoyed a nice walk round the park and stopped off for a drink and a sweet bite to eat. Sadly the overall experience was one of substandard drinks and food. Could perhaps have slightly overlooked this given the current times but the cross and moody lady the younger lady was personable was very abrupt and came across as rude! Times are hard for everyone at the moment but after this experience I will not be returning anywhere soon much better places where to go where you are welcomed with a smile rather than a frown!

This little cafe is a gem! With a great view of the lake and outside seating, essential these days! I visit regularly with my husband for a walk round the lake followed by a coffee and homemade cake or a hot sausage roll, lots of good things on the menu.... and ice creams for children of all ages! Open all year its a must for a visit, there are interesting activities to watch on the lake kayaking, model yachts etc. while you enjoy the sun on the terrace of the cafe with a bite to eat. There is a play area in the park for the youngsters too and a pushchair accessible path. It's one of our favourite spots for a stroll, and a place to meet up with friends.

The two ladies in the cafe could not have been more helpful. The selection offered was limited but very delicious. I had a baked spud which was crusty on the outside and perfectly soft inside, I was given a very fresh crisp salad in my container which was a welcome surprise. My coffee was excellent. Children visiting were fighting for an ice cream from the extensive selection and parents were treating themselves to a price of cake which looked amazing. All the knives and forks were wood and containers recycled cardboard I felt very good about that. The views from the cafe were stunning. I would recommend the cafe at the country park to anyone wanting to have an affordable treat whilst soakin...

"So, the first problem was the booking (and the exact same thing had happened the previous time we arrived at this restaurant with an Open Table booking). I had made the booking online and received confirmation both via email and in the OT app, which I could show at the restaurant. When I made the booking very limited times were available: nothing between 11.45am and 2pm, so we assumed the restaurant would be crowded. When we arrived a little before our 2pm booking, it was three-quarters empty and they had no record of my booking. Since the place was largely empty this didn't matter, but on another occasion it might have done. And maybe one reason the place was so empty was that other potential customers had also seen no availability between 11.45am and 2pm, so Cote had no online bookings. Either Open Table or Cote need to sort out what is wrong with their booking systems as it seems that in Horsham at least the systems do not talk to each other. The food was fine, typical Cote just as you would expect, but the service was disappointing. In a largely empty restaurant one might expect efficient and attentive service but we got nothing of the sort. It was hard to get attention from any server and we had to request some items several times. Someone who from her dress was probably the duty manager, spent most of her time lounging or chatting with other staff members rather than making sure customers got good service."
