During our recent trip to Cockermouth, we dined at a charming restaurant without a reservation on a busy bank holiday Monday. Despite the crowds, the staff made an effort to seat us promptly. During our family weekend break at Keswick Lodge Retreat, we ordered takeout for pickup. We received excellent service from the restaurant, and even after a fifteen-minute drive back, the food was still piping hot. The flavors were exceptional, the chicken tikka was very tender, the poppadoms were fresh and crispy, and the naan breads were fantastic. We highly recommend this takeout option as it offers great value for money.

Great food, always is. 5 stars However a few negatives, make it a shame…!!! So. 1 star 1. They didn’t do Kids portions of any foods. So it’s full price even though my daughter only eats a little. It’s just a waste of food. 2. I asked for a warm water finger bowl to remove honey from eating peshwari Nan. Answer no we don’t do that service!!!! Go to the toilet!! You should change you negative stance on these two points. Your customers are always right.

Used to love this place. Sadly it’s gone very much downhill the sauce was watery and didn’t have much taste, plus the lamb in my mum’s curry was tough as old boots, it took an hour and a half to arrive (two curries, a sag aloo, a rice and a naan bread) plus everything is overpriced £5 for poppadoms and a pickle tray that were brought without us asking for it? Their card machine ‘still isn’t working’ so I suppose that would be for tax evasion purposes since it ‘hasn’t worked’ ever. Visualizza piatti

This restaurant ranks as one of the worst curry houses I've ever been to. The service was poor and inattentive, and the medium curry I ordered was extremely hot and lacked flavor. The meat was unidentifiable, but the only thing I could eat was the rice. I regret not going to the "alternative takeaway" place across the road, where at least I could have tasted something. The manager was rude and arrogant. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs - it was absolutely awful. Even giving it one star feels too generous.

This establishment is not all its cracked up to be. I ordered a takeaway at 7.15 on a Sunday evening, and was told it would take 45mins, no problem, went back to collect it and had to wait 10 more mins. Okay they were busy which isn't an issue if you get a great meal, this wasn't. The sauce on my king prawn masala was the consistency of week old porridge and my partners North Indian chili and garlic tikka chicken had him visiting the porcelain throan on an almost hourly basis! It was literally £40 down the toilet, ahh well you live and learn.

Brusque to the point of rude, inattentive and very slow service. Waiter came to take our order 10 minutes after he’d already taken it. Another waiter came to clear the table before I had finished. (My wife had already finished because her curry, described as ‘medium’, was actually ‘hot’ certainly far too hot for her. We had been looking forward to this meal, which my wife had booked to round off my birthday celebrations. I was more or less scolded like a child for having the temerity to ask if they served any beers on draft. Then I was handed a drinks menu. And 20 minutes later someone came to take our drinks order.
