Dining at this restaurant is exceptional, with generous portion sizes. The staff is efficient, knowledgeable about the menu, and incredibly friendly.

New Year's Eve: The food was excellent, but the atmosphere could have been better, and the service was quite slow. Despite the restaurant not being busy and having many empty tables, the service left a lot to be desired.

I have had Afternoon Tea at Spice Merchant in Cookham on a couple of occasions and very much enjoyed the experience. However, Henley was an entirely different kettle of fish. We had both veg and meat versions and much of what was offered on the menu was not present, with no alternatives being offered. NO ginger potatoes. NO pakoras. NO scones. NO selection of teas. Vegetable wrap was filled with paneer, not vegetables; an issue since two other dishes were already paneer. Orange and chocolate cake was dry and hard. Peas in samosa filling were undercooked and hard. I took friends especially for the experience and frankly, it was was an embarrassment.

Six of us gathered for a birthday tea at lunchtime! Although it wasn't available at the traditional tea time, that didn’t matter to us; we dug in at noon. A stunning tiered stand was brought to our table, featuring savory delights on the bottom and sweet treats on top. We enjoyed samosas, caramelized spicy chicken wings, pieces of buttermilk chicken, a serving of paneer curry, and chicken tikka wraps, among other delicious items, all perfectly spiced. As for the top layer, there was an incredibly moist orange and chocolate cake, meringue topped with whipped cream and mango, a mango lassi, and a sugary syrup-drenched doughnut whose name escapes me, along with a couple of other sweet treats.
